NOW ON TO THE TOY THAT LEVI RECEIVED
RompiDogz Tug N' Toss Rope > Green
Photo from the Rompicatz/RompiDogz website |
I was super excited to receive this fabulous tug rope, and Levi was super excited too!!!
This toy is listed as being "perfect for all ages and sizes of dogs." And basically it IS!! With one exception. I am sad to report that although Levi LOVED (the word being "loved" is in past tense and you will read why in a second), Levi is a STRONG chewer. When I'm saying STRONG I am not exaggerating! We had many toys left from after our sweet Dakota passed and Levi decimated each and every one of them.
We bought him some new toys. He destroyed ALL of them. Basically, while I LOVE rope toys (and Levi does too, if he would just play with them and not eat them), until he is older he cannot have them. He completely destroyed this toy in approximately 5 minutes. (He started chewing on the rope and started to unravel it).
This toys IS a "fun and interactive exercise toy". It is PERFECT for games of fetch, etc. But, if you have a strong chewer like Levi, unfortunately, that dog shouldn't play with it unless someone is playing WITH him.
Don't let Levi's shenanigans prevent you from purchasing this toy. You can see from the photo IT IS well made and is TOUGH (for MANY DOGS), just not a super strong chewer like Levi. Levi is only 14 months old, I am certain if he had been given this toy at an older age he would have been fine with it.
FEATURES:
- Soft rope toy for dogs to get a good grip.
- Interwoven for strength and durability.
- Returns back to shape after being stretched.
- Easy to hold onto when playing with your dog.
- Made from a Polyester/Cotton blend.
- Large Rope - 10.5” x 2”
- Small Rope - 8.5" x 1.4"
There is even this disclaimer: "This is not a Chew Toy. Please supervise your dog while playing and take away if it becomes damaged."
In fairness we DID allow Levi to have the toy on his own (we were in the room and never left the room and he was NOT harmed because he started unraveling the toy, but we should not have let him play with it without us playing with it with him). I just should have paid closer attention to the warning. THIS IS A GREAT TOY!!! I should have supervised Levi more closely so he wouldn't have unraveled part of it and he could have enjoyed it more if I had.
Here is another video of just how great this toy truly is!
I would like to thank Ellen for sending such great toys and for her kindness and patience!! I was not compensated for this post in any way other than receiving the toys in exchange for an honest review.

These toys look like so much fun!
ReplyDeleteThese look like great toys for lots of fun!
ReplyDeleteThose teasers and that rope look like tons o'fun! I know a thing or two about unravelling toys. I've all but destroyed one of my 'nip toys from Ellen. Good to see Levi and Roary playing!! Have a happy, warm weekend.
ReplyDeleteYou two sure had fun playing with those toys. Don't worry, Levi, Walter would have destroyed that toy in short order too.
ReplyDeletewe love the fab color... but our toys often give in before we can give them a name ;O)
ReplyDeletethat's the same here! Levi is sooo destructive! We have a few boring toys that are industrial strength (like this one frisbee for dogs that is completely indestructible) believe me, Levi has tried! lol
DeleteThose look like fun toys. That rope one looks pretty sturdy.
ReplyDeleteThe rope toy IS sturdy, 1) for the right dog 2) if I hadn't let Levi sit with it on his own. I was (and still am) quite happy with how it is (was) made. I honestly didn't think he would chew through the rope. I feel that was completely my fault and not the fault of the toy.
DeleteLooks like some great toys! My cats love wand toys.
ReplyDeleteWe have some teaser toys for the cats. Bert enjoys playing with them but Mom doesn't remember to play very often.
ReplyDeleteI'm really bad about that too.......Roary loves them and I get so drained from Levi that sometimes the poor buy falls through the cracks. That being said he has tons of toys he can chase but I DO need to play with him one-on-one more frequently.
DeleteThat boy of yours has razor teeth! LOL All of the toys you were sent are cute and they definitely are the kings of toys cats AND a dog like. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Pam
Those look like fun. I think I'd like the first one even at my advanced age. It's the type of wand toy I wouldn't get wrapped around my neck and I could carry it through the house yelling at 5 a.m. TW tries to hide stuff but I always find them.
ReplyDeleteOur babies love toys and when we play with them even better. Wonderful reviews.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and weekend. Scritches to the boys. ♥
Those toys look like fun, maybe that would be a good gift for Simon, he loves wand toys!
ReplyDeleteGreat review and cute videos. Glad they are having fun. XO
ReplyDeleteI know what I’m asking Santa Paws for! ~Ernie
ReplyDeleteThose all look like great toys. The 3rd cat toy is the one Flynn would have had most fun with.
ReplyDeleteTeaser toys are loved here. The shorter ones can be thrown like arrows for kitties to chase (easier for mom), and the longer ones are easier to get the kitties moving farther (again, easier for mom). The fabric one in this set looks like a winner!
ReplyDeleteThose look like fun! For some reason, Ava is kind of afraid of the plush tip teaser kind.
ReplyDeleteThose toys were so fun and awsome!
ReplyDeleteBenji will destroy everything he can, too...and he eats the stuff he rips up...so our toy box is limited to hard toys or toys that he only gets when we are nearby. He even bit off chunks form very tough rubber treat toys. Oh my, he has jaws and teeth of death! Dalton plays a bit gentler, though he too can destuff a 'stuffie' pretty quickly.
Benji and Levi are quite similar! Dakota often would "drop it" after we would yell at him. Not Levi, not only will he destroy the toy but when you yell to him (if he has something in his mouth), he IMMEDIATELY swallows it.....it if frustrating and makes us angry. I hate to think of all of the things he has eaten....even Kleenex and paper towels.....UGH!!!
DeleteAs long as the stuff can 'make the trip...and come out of the long dark tunnel'...BOL, BOL!!
DeleteLong time ago our neighbors had a young mastiff and she would 'snack' on diapers she found in the trash....eeuuwwwwwww!! And that was before we had a fence, and she would drop very interesting parcels on our lawn....YUCK!
