Pet Blogger Review of The "Loo" All in One Modern Litter Box by Meowy Studio

THEIR STORY:

Meowy Studio began when founder Jimmy, had an idea to make sustainable cat products that would complement a harmonious living space. He wanted to create cat products that were practical but with modern design in mind.  Jimmy founded Meowy Studio, your go-to place for cat products tailored for modern living. Made from 100% recyclable ABS plastic, the design incorporates a handy litter catcher, so you no longer have to worry about the mess your furbaby leaves behind. The closed-structure box is sleek and stylish but also combats nasty smells by blocking the odor in the tray. The tray is easy to clean with a simple rinse-and-wipe solution, which will keep you feeling zen every day. They care about their customers and want to offer as much support as they can after making a purchase. In their package, you will receive info so that you can  contact Jimmy personally to discuss ways they can improve their products for the future.

I was excited when I was offered the opportunity to review the Loo All in One Modern Litter Box.   Roary has been using Cody's  old litter cabinet/box and I felt that he deserved to have one of his own, so I was eager to give the Loo a try.

I was impressed with what I saw and read on their website and loved the minimalist design.  The day the box arrived, of course Roary was "on" it!

The kind people at Meowy Studio KNOW that cats will be drawn to the box, so much so that they have THIS on the outside of the box:

THERE IS VIRTUALLY NO ASSEMBLY!!

COULDN'T BE EASIER! The Loo comes with a filter plate, litter catcher, litter base, cover, scoop, scoop holder, an optional curtain for the door and a scoop holder hook

PROS:

NO ASSEMBLY REQUIRED, NO TOOLS NECESSARY! TAKES SECONDS TO "ASSEMBLE"

SUPER EASY TO CLEAN: just rinse with water and wipe dry!! Easy Peasy!

SIMPLE, SLEEK, BEAUTIFUL DESIGN

Made from 100% recyclable plastics and manufactured without the use of harmful chemicals. The materials are high quality/ABS plastic that is SCRATCH resistant and durable.

CLOSED STRUCTURE: It EFFECTIVELY blocks odor

ROARY LOVES IT and USED IT DAILY!

COMES IN AN ASSORTMENT OF ATTRACTIVE COLORS-Carbon Grey, Blush Pink and the Aspen White (which I have)

The grate DOES help keep litter from tracking on the floor

CATS LOVE TO PLAY WITH THE BOX THAT IT COMES IN!

  • CONS
  • The entry door is much smaller than my other litter cabinet. Only small to medium sized cats would fit easily through the door. Roary is on the small side (he is smaller than both my Angels Bobo and Cody were), so he has no problem at all.

For me, lifting the entire top of the box in my small bathroom to clean it is rather annoying. I wish it had some sort of an opening where I didn't have to lift the entire top off and lay it on the floor like I have to now. For some, that may not be annoying, but my other litter cabinet has a door that you open in the front and you can slide the pan right out to scoop.

Mine came with an optional little curtain flap (not pictured), that was annoying and fell off the first time Roary went through the opening with it on. I have chosen to leave it off.

  • The litter pan is smaller than I would like. Roary actually PEED on the side where the grate is, into the side that had NO LITTER. I ended up putting litter on BOTH SIDES.

WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO SEE:

A Loo that is designed for larger cats.

A design where you do not have to lift the top off to scoop

I would like to see the grate removed and make the entire lower tray non-divided, so that the litter tray would be larger. (A smaller tray means I have to add litter more often. Maybe a grate could be an optional feature to add on should the owner want to do so?)

Would love to see a model where it could be used in more than one way, an example would be to add snap on plastic shelves or something so if you use it in a bathroom you could store towels, etc., on it.

HERE'S MY "SCOOP":

I DO like the Loo, (even with the "cons" I mentioned above). More importantly, Roary likes it!

I love how the actual litter pan is easier to clean than a normal litter pan. I love it's smaller "footprint" visually. I love that Roary tried it out on his own with no encouraging necessary.  What is funny is that Roary is actually using both the Loo and his old litter cabinet. When one is soiled, he uses the other. (Roary has always been rather fastidious about his litter, I scoop twice a day, so I DO intend to keep both the Loo and Roary's old litter cabinet, since I am the only one who uses the bathroom with him). This way I am certain he will pretty much ALWAYS have one litter box that is clean.

IF YOU WANT A STYLISH, EASY TO CLEAN, SMALLER  ENCLOSED LITTER BOX THAT WILL BLEND UNOBTRUSIVELY WITH YOUR DECOR, THIS IS DEFINITELY THE BOX FOR YOU!!!

Thank you so much Mr.Jimmy !!! I LOVE my new Loo !!! I make "DEPOSITS" in it daily!!!!

Love, Roary (and Mom too!)

    1. what a BRILLIANT idea for free ranging bunnies! That is BRILLIANT!!! Thanks about "follow it"...I tried it with A LOT of other blogs but they still don't send them to my email. I do follow on BlogLovin' but sometimes not every blogger who I follow there appears in the feed. :(

  3. Mum says it looks really cool and would go well with our bathroom decor (even though ours too is a small bathroom). I don't think I would use it though as I like my tray. Glad Roary likes it!

    1. My bathroom is quite small and it fits quite nicely, don't forget, I have two litter areas in there now.....it fits quite nicely!

  4. It's a nice looking loo for sure....but we would agree with your suggested improvements especially that one be available for large cats. I probably could get my head inside the opening but that's about it!

  5. The basic idea looks great but with two cats, we too would like a larger one but the concept is on track.

    1. that's exactly how I feel too. I think they should offer a larger one as well, and not divide the bottom tray as well.

  6. That does look like a nice one but our two boys are on the big side so they probably wouldn't fit.

    1. Yeah, probably not. I did post the dimensions. Roary is a small cat, he's smaller than Cody and Bobo were (and Cody wasn't that big either, Bobo was the largest of the three), not sure if Cody would have fit.....for Roary it seems to be a close fit.

  7. That looks like a nice loo but I agree that it needs to be a bit larger. Roary looks so cute in the pictures!

  8. It's most attractive too. That's a huge plus.

    Great review.

Have a fabulous day and week, Caren. Scritches to the boys. xoxo ♥

  9. Love the clean lines. But I could see where the small size could be a problem. Happy 'loo-ing' it!

  11. Nice looking box! I love a HUGE box so this wouldn't be for me. I do pee really high up so we do like the high sides. TW is marveling over the size of your bathroom.

  12. I think its a good idea but go along with everyone about it being way too small. It is also confining if you have cats who "guard" the box there needs to be a second exit. It will work for some. Not for us. We like buying large storage tubs and cutting two openings in them. Easy and cheap. They do take a whole lot to fill though

  13. I’m not a fan of covered litter boxes, but that looks like a nice one. A bigger size for larger cats is a must, though.

  14. Glad Roary likes it- that is all that matters. :) XO

  15. That's a very cool looking litter box! And it's got lots of awesome features too.

  16. That looks great, Caren and Roary, but it may be a little too small for Ava. It's okay, she has her own private loo under the stairs. :)

  17. That is a very smart looking litter box but do agree with your cons. Hopefully the company will take note of them and develop it from there.

  18. Around here, whatever works is good! My box is BIG and I have great liter that flushes, so I’m okay with that. AND there is the garden where I help fertilize the plants….

  19. What an interesting box! We're glad Roary likes it.

  20. We doggies are not able to do stuff like that but this litter box looks really good!

  21. Seems like it would work well for a kitten but not necessarily a large cat. I prefer the litter box be bigger than the cat so they have room to turn and choose the right spot. That means only Jumbo boxes for us since both Wolfie and Tilly are large kitties.

  22. Wow, such a beautiful 'box'! It would have been too small for us, too...except maybe Suki who was the smallest of our six.
Wonder wh there isn't a bigger box, maybe he's still working on it. We would have liked one without a seam, since Pipo and one of the others were upright piddlers...more like a stream aimed up! LOL! High sides were over-streamed and seamed covered boxes always leaked...so we too used an improvised storage box...lid came off so it was easy to clean...no seams to leak, and no over the box puddles. What worked for a while were those top entry boxes, but not too good for older kitties with arthritic joints...
Sheesh, no wonder there are so many different kinds of litter boxes...we have to cater to their needs and our wants!

    1. it appears they are working on a larger box from an email I received after they read my review. They said they would consider my suggestions. I am with you about having no "seam" or I am assuming you mean a divider. I don't care for that either. It greatly cuts down on the size of the litter area. As I mentioned, of course Roary peed on the side that had no litter and I was forced to put litter on BOTH sides.....yes, all kitties have their various requirements, that's for sure!
