Today is the 51st celebration of Earth Day!
From the Earth Day Website: Climate change and other environmental degradations have broken our natural systems, leading to new and fatal diseases as well as a breakdown of the global economy. But just as climate change and coronavirus painfully remind us of the harm we’ve caused, Restore Our Earth reminds us of the opportunities that lay ahead.
Every day on our walks Mom and I see beautiful things. Plants, trees and flowers, even bunnies and ducks. We must do our best to protect and restore our Earth so we can continue to enjoy the beauty that exists on all of our walks. In honor of this most important day, I wanted to share some photos that Mom and I took on my regular morning walk in our complex this past Monday.
READY? HERE WE GO!!!
Mom loves willow trees. She said when she was a little girl (5 yrs old), she used to stand under one in her backyard in Pittsburgh and sing
"Johnny Angel." Mom is quite old, so if you aren't familiar with that song, you aren't old, if you DO know that song, my apologies!! BOL!
The two photos of the stream below are right near our condo. It is in our back courtyard. Dakota used to love to walk there with Mom, especially last Spring. He met a nice lady named Ruthie who plants flowers and trees there. So far I haven't met Ruthie, but I am hoping to meet her soon!
"We must Restore Our Earth not just because we care about the natural world, but because we live on it. Every one of us needs a healthy Earth to support our jobs, livelihoods, health & survival, and happiness. A healthy planet is not an option — it is a necessity."
WE MUST ALL DO OUR PART!!
ONE WAY TO DO THAT IS TO
PICK UP YOUR POOP!!
(OR TRY TO EAT IT AS I AM KNOWN TO DO)
The photo above is one of
MANY "Dog Stations" we have at our complex. Dakota used to get excited to visit them. I like to bark at them. You never know when some poop is going to try and escape and attack you, so you
MUST bark at the poop so it doesn't jump out!!
That's my story and I'm sticking to it!! Hoping you enjoyed this glimpse into my morning walk!!!! Have a happy Earth Day!!!
Sending you rowdy licks and love!!!
Levi
Happy Earth Day! You live in such a beautiful complex! The biped thinks she could tolerate adjoining housing if it were in such a pretty area (unlike this complex, but we won't go there).
ReplyDeleteWe're not sold on eating poop, Levi, but hey, whatever works for you! :-D
it's prettier when all of the flowers that they plant are blooming but they haven't bloomed yet. OMG about Levi, we are soooooo praying he outgrows it (Vet thinks he will), I have to pull his leash sooooooo close to me when picking up poop because he tries to get it. Dogs......I'll tell ya!! Happy Earth Day! xoxo
DeleteI love all the blossoms. Spring is such a magical time of year.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous Earth Day. Scritches to the boys. ♥
oh the trees are like fireworks... wish they would be the only ones instead this boom&bang stuff...and it would help our earth ...
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous blooming trees, Levi, and yes, mom does know the Johnny Angel song so that must mean that she's older than dirt too☺ Happy Earth Day!
ReplyDeleteHappy Earth day to you Levi. You have a wonderful walk and keep checking things are ok in the neighborhood!
ReplyDeleteLevi, you are very handsome, and Happy Earth Day!
ReplyDeleteTell your momma that it's been too long since I last visited with her; we'll have to meet up after the pandemic!
That was a terrific post and my, Levi is so darn handsome!!! Happy Earth Day!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos and you look adorable, Levi! Don't eat the poop though :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful Earth Day post, Happy Earth Day!
ReplyDeleteNature is full of beauty! I think Levi is just trying to save you having to pick up the poop by disposing of it for you.
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty flowering trees you have. It sounds like you're doing your part to help our earth.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful photos. Happy Earth Day! XO
ReplyDeleteThat's such a lovely area to walk in. So is our neighborhood, but we have coyotes and bobcats sometimes, so my human leaves me at home when she goes walking! Happy Earth Day!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful trees and flowers and places to walk.....you are lucky Levi that you can go for walks with your Mom and enjoy all that beauty up close. Humans can be real slobs sometimes but when you find a pristine and beautiful spot where they are taking care of things, you realize what a REALLY REALLY beautiful planet we occupy! Hopefully it will stay that way. You are a most handsome boy Levi - soon you will have girl doggies following you around I bet.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Teddy
It looks beautiful there were you are living. Here things are not in bloom quite yet. Don't eat the poop, that is a bad idea.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place you live in - makes for wonderful walks. Thanks for the tour and the wise words for Earth Day.
ReplyDeleteOH, that wonderful Roary has the most beautiful eyes and muzzle and FACE of any doggy of his kind.
ReplyDeleteOops, I meant the other one.
ReplyDeleteThe Earth is looking quite pretty in your neck of the woods, Levi! Thanks for supporting Earth Day, it's so important! ♥
ReplyDeleteHappy Earth Day Levi, and everyone! What beautiful places to walk!
ReplyDeleteOur Earth is such a beautiful spot we do hope people take care of it. We pray they do
ReplyDeleteYou're living in a beautiful area, Levi ! We didn't know that poop could jump out of that box, we're glad you know how to bark and avoid any poop attack ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteBOL! BOL! BOL!!!! Love, Levi
DeleteWhat a beautiful complex you live in, Caren and Levi! Happy Earth Day. Don't let the poop get ya!
ReplyDeleteHappy Earth Week! Beautiful pics! Omg Levi is a looker! I forgot I even blogged or check if there were comments.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are getting more gorgeous every day!
ReplyDeleteThese are all beautiful things to see during a walk for sure. Dad learned a related saying some time ago: "Live simply so that others may simply live". Hmmm, jumping attack poop, huh?
ReplyDeleteI just love it when the trees bloom, and the leaves start to come out, it makes all look so lacy and delicate.
ReplyDeleteDon't feel too bad, Levi, MJF used to bark and cringe at light pole bases if they had boxes beside them, they kind of hum...he thought there were aliens or something in them, BOL!!
If everyone does their part, our earth would be much happier, indeed!
OMG too funny!! I was literally just telling Lenny that Levi was barking at a large power box that is free standing by one of the apartments at the front of our complex. He barked his head off!
DeleteYou live in a beautiful place! I would love to have that back courtyard :)
