Today is National Cat Herders Day:
"December 15 is National Cat Herder’s Day! Although the only job remotely close to cat herding is working at your local animal shelter, this holiday is not dedicated to cats. This celebration is meant for those who can manage others and themselves no matter what chaos is thrown their way. The idiom, “like herding cats,” was popularized during a Super Bowl commercial in 2000 by “Hewlett Packard.” They compared their ability to serve others like cowboys herding cats – with ease. Since then, the phrase is mostly used to describe those who can lead and handle life even when it is uncontrollable. The term is also considered a skill workers use when leading a group towards one goal."
Well, in our house since Levi is a Shetland Sheepdog which is a member of the Herding Group in the AKC, we decided to take artistic license and use the LITERAL meaning and pretend that it is Levi who wants to herd Roary (which he often tries to do)...well, in this instance he does NOT succeed!
(Yes, I was holding the phone vertically instead of horizontally, hence the wrong size for the blog, but you get the idea!)
This round goes to ROARY!!! (Which is also quite common in our home!)
Better luck next time Levi!!!
***No Shelties were harmed in the filming of this video!!!
Aw, that us so cute!! Levi is going to think he is a cat! LOL! He wrestles just like one:)
ReplyDeleteWay to go Roary!
hahaha concats roary!!! we love the video!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!! xoxo
DeleteWhat a fun tussle between the two of them. <3
ReplyDeleteHow sweet to see them having so much enjoyment playing together.
ReplyDeleteI wondered where Cat Herders had come from, but now you have said about it I can remember that cat herding advert.
That is so hilarious AND adorable at the same time! Those two are the best of buddies but cats will be cats and dogs will be dogs - this battle of who's the herder will go on forever! HAHAHAHA
ReplyDeleteHugs, Pam
Nooooooooooooooooooooooo NOT FOREVER!! (PLEASE!!! MOL MOL MOL!!) xoxo
DeleteRoary will learn how to handle his cat. We tackle ours like football players tackle. We also love to chew on our cat bro Bert which usually sends him racing away for some reason.
ReplyDeleteThat video was great, a wonderful way to start my day. No dog will ever win against a cat, though. Hahah.
ReplyDeletethank you so much! Well, sometimes Levi gets the upper paw...when he has Roary's head in his mouth but Roary definitely can hold his own!!!
DeleteOh my, those two were having such a blast and we sure enjoyed the show!
ReplyDeleteCome on over!! The show takes place MULTIPLE times per day! I'll even pass out free popcorn! LOL!!
DeleteAw, they are having a great time. Cute.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day. ♥
That has to be one of the best videos of the year! Those two darlings together, having such a good time and loving one another already. Of course, one of them will get bigger...PLEASE take more videos as they grow up because they make us FEEL GOOD. Heaven knows we need that. Love from Loulou and famille
ReplyDeleteAwww that means sooo much to me!!! I thank you! I will do my best to take more videos when I'm not breaking up Big Time Wrestling!! lol
DeleteMom is laughing really hard! There is water coming our her eye! She says that Kozmo and Cinnamon were just like that when they were little! They are still best buddies! Thanks for sharing and thanks for the laugh and the memories!
ReplyDeletePurrs
Marv
YOU have ME laughing!!! You mean they will actually STOP doing this insanity? I sure hope so!!! This takes place MULTIPLE times a day!! lol
DeleteSomehow I don't think Levi is going to grow into his herding heritage through practice with Roary! They look adorable together though!
ReplyDeleteHe will! Levi is predicted to be about 40 lbs and 15 inches tall.......he soon will have the "upper paw" lol
DeleteLooks like Levi is learning how to fight with cat moves!
ReplyDeleteyou are having way too much fun with those two!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute! We really love seeing those two have such fun. Your hearts must be a little fuller now
ReplyDeleteYes our hearts are definitely fuller, but there are two gaping holes that can't be filled xoxo
DeleteRoary is one tough kitty! :)
ReplyDeleteThat was so adorable. Those two are going to have years of fun. XO
ReplyDeleteOMC, they're so crazy and fun! Roary sure knows how to hold his own, and it looks like he and Levi are good pals.
ReplyDeleteCrazy is the operative word lol! Roary can DEFINITELY hold his own (especially if he is upset with Levi), and Roary is a sneaky little fellow........they are pals but I sure hope they settle down a bit as they get older!
DeleteThat was really cute! Levi was a good sport wrestling with Roary.
ReplyDeleteHell no, lol. Levi usually has Roary's head in his mouth lol
DeleteWhat darling tussle buddies!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the video--Roary is a champ-love that the two are clearly best friends!
ReplyDeleteThey are SO cute together!
ReplyDeleteWe know how to herd cats; Da Boyz are always trying to get into trouble in the kitchen, and we know how to hustle them back out the door!
ReplyDeleteRoary is letting Levi know who is going to be the boss in their home!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to watch them! I haven't seen a dog and cat play together like that since my sister had a beagle puppy and a cat who liked to wrestle. None of our dogs and cats ever did.
ReplyDeleteHow cute is this? I love that they play together!
ReplyDeleteWhoa! We'd be scared one of them is going to get hurt. Roary is going for the jugular.
