Well, I didn't either!
Never heard of it until I received my email from Days of the Year
There IS a Humbug Day and it is today!! When I learned that today is Humbug Day I thought of a former photo I have of Cody and his "grumpy" face, I just had to use it again:
Cody had a "Grumpy" face before there ever was a Grumpy Cat! I miss my precious boy and his gorgeous green eyes and adorable face sooooooooo much!
But on to Humbug Day:
From Days of the Year:
"For many people, Christmas can be an incredibly stressful time of year. Coping with the pressures of shopping for gifts and planning events and parties whilst embracing the holiday spirit can be a lot to ask!
Humbug Day encourages a controlled venting of all that stress before Christmas so that you can enjoy the festive season to the fullest."
I am thinking that this year it will be a tad different because major events and parties will be nonexistent, but regardless, there is always stress this time of year to get everything done!
I am doubting people will be in Humbug mode though because we all sure can use a little Christmas spirit right now, am I right or what?
maybe that day is for the mama... she is not in christmas mood because we will be alone this year...seems she turns into a grinch...
ReplyDeleteWhat? Mama is going to be alone this year???????? Why?
DeleteChristmas will be different this year for sure - and for many reasons - but one thing remains the same....the SPIRIT is there - it's just a little tired !! Love that photo of darling Angel Cody. Humbug? NEVER!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Pam
I think most humans are in a bah humbug mood all the time since the pandemic hit. The fun has been sucked out of life for the most part.
ReplyDeleteCody had a lovely face. After Flynn went to the Bridge we started going away for Christmas so I stopped putting decorations up. This year it is all cancelled so the decorations will come out again just for the two of us.
ReplyDeleteMany people don't have any family, either, so yes, it can be a "humbug" time of year, especially THIS year. So all the more reason to find what little (or big) joys you can in each day. :-)
ReplyDeleteA lot of us are waiting for 2020 to be kicked to the curb, with hopes that 2021 turns out BETTER!
ReplyDeleteSo yeah, a bit of Humbug and grouchiness is going to surface.
We agree, there's been enough Humbug this year, let's all grab a happy!
ReplyDeleteWe loved Cody and Dakota. Lots and they are both missed.
ReplyDeleteNo stress here. We work hard to rid ourselves of stress.
Have a fabulous day and week. ♥
I know my human is going crazy getting things done this week! But she is pretty happy about it.
ReplyDeleteAt least Petcretary is off now until Christmas when she has to work. So not much humbug here!!
ReplyDeleteI thought humbugs were cute??! MOL, MOL!
Cody sure was:)
I didn't realize Humbug Day was on the Solstice.
ReplyDeleteNice to see Angel Cody, he was too cute to look grumpy. XO
ReplyDeleteThis has been Humbug Year!
ReplyDeleteGot that right!!
DeletePeople who don't know me well probably think I'm a Grinch and/or humbug. I'm not - Christmas hasn't been a happy time for me since I was 8 - so I just don't make a big deal of it (I treat it like any other day). I guess that's sad, huh? I do enjoy spending time with family in the name Of Christmas though!
ReplyDeleteI totally get it. I'm the same with New Year's Eve. I HATE it. I have had MANY AWFUL New Year's Eves...more than good ones. If I could, I would sleep through New Year's Eve every single year, so I totally understand!
DeleteWe remember that grumpy face on Angel Cody and know that in reality he was so happy. Purrs friends
ReplyDeleteHey, I caught a humbug in the garden today, eating mama's roses. BAH!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think many of us have been in some type of humbug mode for the past few years, especially this last one. Kittens are a cure for humbug-ness! Cody's beautiful eyes made it difficult for him to look too grumpy.
ReplyDeletehumbug is also a candy- my grandparents used to always eat them! yum
ReplyDeleteBah humbug as they say. Happy Festivus. 😹
ReplyDeleteIt's been a tough year, for sure, and this holiday season is weird, but we really are grateful for all that we have.
ReplyDeleteNice to see Angel Cody ! It's been a humbug year indeed ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteWell dad's first thought was already taken by many others. We were gonna say Humbug Day?! Look at the past year!! Anyhoo, let's hope all y'all can make the most of this holiday season and the coming New Year ISN'T so Humbug. It's funny- dad says Angel Cody's grumpy face made him remember his youth and how his mom and dad always made fun of him, saying he was always frowning like that and must've been miserable. Oh, if he could only share...
ReplyDeleteI always love your comments, they are always so thoughtful, you put so much into them. I hear ya about having a frowning face as a kid!
DeleteHow did we miss this post! We stopped by to wish you love, joy, and peace … today, tomorrow, and always -- Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteWe are thankful this year is drawing to an end!
