I recall Flag Day was the last day for my elementary school career, and being a member of the band, I had to march out to the flag pole while playing my flute! I wore red culottes (remember those?) and a white and blue striped shirt. That was a very long time ago!
OMG thank you for the culotte memory!! I remember wanting to wear those so badly but my mother wouldn't let me because they were too "pant-like"....this was at the time that pants were just finally accepted at school and my Mother was a stickler for wearing skirts to school (which I have ALWAYS hated! Still do!)
