Yes we should honor all our heroes. Your post is a very good one. My Dad was in the Army National Guard. May we honor these men and women who serve not just today but everyday.

Our boys used to march in a local parade and then they would gather at the big cemetery in Kalamazoo for a ceremony to honor those who gave their lives for our freedoms. And they placed flags at Fort Custer as well.
I had to work, so for me it was not a holiday at all...there was a volunteer there who played lots of patriotic songs on the piano, and it was good to see a lot of residents singing their hearts out:) They know the reason for the day.
Hope your Memorial Day was as special as ours was. The housekeeper went to a remembrance ceremony and I wore a special flag thingie on my collar. It's a day we all hold dear for the sacrifices made by the men and women in our armed forces. - Tom x
