"By George you've Got it!"
"George Washington was born in Virginia on February 11, 1731, according to the then-used Julian calendar. In 1752, however, Britain and all its colonies adopted the Gregorian calendar which moved Washington's birthday a year and 11 days to February 22, 1732."

Happy birthday to George Washington. I respect him partly because at the time he could have probably seized power and made himself president for life but he set a precedent for all that followed by retiring after two terms.
ReplyDeleteGeorge was a heck of a man; I've read a few biographies about him. He was a farmer, who found himself pushed into the limelight, and he seemed always ready to go back HOME to his fields. We, as a nation, were very lucky to have him.
ReplyDeleteoh I love that!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!
