Well hi there!! Now that you have been sufficiently frightened seeing MY giant nose and mascara-less eyes, Cody and I just wanted to share our late-night TV ritual!
We sit on the couch (lately Cody has been behind me, he normally sits next to me, and for this photo I had to cut my face off and tilt my phone in order to get Cody in the shot behind me), yep I wear hats inside ALL of the time, and we snuggle up to watch The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, immediately followed by Seth Meyers (if I can stay awake). On Sunday night I am obsessed with "90 Day Fiance, Before the 90 Days"........(don't judge!! I LOVE mindless TV) and if I am awake enough I will surf Instagram and play some Words With Friends and Song Pop.
Do any of you stay up til the wee hours of the morning? If so, what's YOUR ritual?
We're all night owls here. And momma luvs Seth Meyers.
ReplyDeleteOMG I LOVE HIM TOO!!!! He is always spot on!! I love the Amber sketches they do!
DeleteIt's nice to have a night time routine :)
ReplyDeleteWinston and Emily like to keep me company while I read.
I'm also watching Downton Abby on Netflix!
Hey, as long as you two are having fun, that is the main thing!
ReplyDeleteBrother Simon is always up until the wee hours!
ReplyDeleteHe should get together with us!
DeleteYour ritual is sweet!
ReplyDeleteNope, our biped is not up until the wee hours. She's usually in bed at 8 PM, and asleep not long after, and up around 4 AM, to get ready for work. But we have our early morning rituals with her, that varying depending on the time of year and whether we want to go out into the back space or not. :-)
that's cause you have a REAL job!! When I worked at the paper (and ensuing jobs) I was up at 5:15am or 5am for over 21 years! xoxo
DeleteSounds like how it is around here too. Only my mom doesn't have an awesomely cool hat like you!
ReplyDeleteLaila
it's a cat hat!! I got it at SAKS OFF FIFTH!
DeleteThat sounds like a pawsome routine.
ReplyDeleteWe kitties may stay up a bit late but we usually join mum in bed early
because she is up early(not as early as Kea ) but about 4:45AM.
She was always a night owl, but is liking being an early bird for now.
Purrs Georgia,Julie and JJ
you're like our Dad! He is up at 3:30am or 4am because of Cody and he substitute teaches :)
DeleteWe're lucky if our mom us up past 10:00 pm! MOL We miss out on all of the late night TV. You're lucky, Cody!
ReplyDeleteNo!! YOU are the lucky ones because you have a Mama who WORKS!!
DeleteWhat a great shot. I linked this post to Awww Mondays. You both are adorable.
ReplyDeleteHave a purrfect day, Cody. My best to your funny mom. ♥
You are sooooooooo sweet, thank you!! Thank you for your kind words and for linking us! I felt kind of awkward about saying "awww" about it lol!!!! We love you!!!! xoxo
DeletePetcretary has become a night owl, too...3 or 4 am are not uncommon...working second shift has messed her up! She used to be in bed by about 9 pm...wow!
ReplyDeleteBut I have classical music on the TV or computer and visit blogs or do art work...
at least you are doing something productive!! Some nights I will be catching up with email/blogs up til when Fallon starts, I try not to be on the computer late though. I can see how second shift would mess up your sleep cycle, that has to be hard!
DeleteGreat pic!
ReplyDeleteWe're normally in bed by midnight but often awake by 5am. I feed Athena and she might sit with me a bit or head on back upstairs to bed while I stay up and catch up on some TV. I like the peacefulness at this time as I'm always grumpy when I awake and can't be around people.
Purrs xx
Athena and Marie
thank you!! I like the peacefulness too, my husband hates that I stay up so late (he is in bed by 11:30 at the latest)........I love it....it's quiet, and it is just me and my "boys" xoxo
DeleteBy the time we’re done feeding the cats and ourselves I only get out of the kitchen at 9:30pm then I give my oldest cat his subq fluids. Then I can relax with a cuppa tea and some kitty playtime. Just when I think this is a good time to finish off a blog post I may get caught up in some late night TV. Jimmy Fallon or Last week with John Oliver or anything for a laugh! I can’t deal with serious TV after a hard day’s work. Lol I’m a night owl and always have been!
ReplyDeletewill think of you when I watch Fallon! I LOVE John Oliver but don't usually watch him...I might have to this week. I wasn't a night owl til I wasn't working outside of the home, now I am up sooo late!
DeleteI used to stay up late to watch some late nite t.v., but lately I've been nodding off at a more reasonable hour (since the work day starts at 7:30 am). 90-day fiance was interesting a while ago, but not it's just drama t.v. (not judging). I find that's the pattern with all of those shows. The first year you can learn something about the issue/process, and after that it becomes drama for drama's sake.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you about 90-day Fiance. This time though there is actually ONE couple that I am hoping succeeds, they are such a cute couple. I totally agree with you about the drama, but sometimes I am in the mood for crap, raunchy, drama-filled TV lol!!! And....since I no longer work outside of the home I stay up late. I stay up til approx 2am and get up at 7am.
DeleteI still go into an office and am forced to hear my coworkers inane daily personal dramas. That's why I can't watch it on t.v.
DeleteI get up super early (3:15AM) to spend one on one time with Teddy - just as I did with Sammy all those years. So no way am I up late at night - I go to bed at 8-8:30 at the latest! Yeah I'm boring but I am definitely WOUND DOWN by then!!!! I'm glad you and Cody have your quiet time together too. It's fun isn't it.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Pam
you should call my husband, he gets up when you do! Yep I love my quiet time with Cody. Last night he crawled on my shoulder from behind and started making biscuits, have to say it was a tad strange lol xoxo
DeleteCat Dad is usually snoring while I stay up way too late on my laptop. The cats usually tempt me into a red dot challenge game - the furbabies LOVE the laser pointer anytime of day or night - MOL!
ReplyDeleteLovely ritual ! What is a late night TV ? Claire goes to bed on 10PM and is an early bird, she gets up between 5.30 and 6AM. Purrs
ReplyDeletethat's because you aren't a loser like my Mom. When my Mom worked outside the home for over 21 years, she got up between 5 and 5:15 too. Love, Cody
DeleteWait a sec. TW is a loser cos she doesn't have a real job anymore but not your mom, Cody.
DeleteCK, TW isn't a loser but my Mom is! My Mom hasn't had a "real" job since 2007!!!!!!! Love, Cody
DeleteHey, that's the year TW lost her real job. November 1, 2007. They may be twins.
DeleteHa!! I think we ARE twins!!! Mine was March of 2007 and my Bobo passed that July, then Cody was adopted in 2007 and we got Dakota October of 2007!!!
DeleteAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh too sweet my friends
ReplyDeletehugs
Cecilia
I used to go to bed around 3 am because I don't sleep well and lie awake for hours, but I have slowly managed to get it earlier and it is nearer 1.30 now. I don't get up until 8.30 though now I don't have to go out and see to the horses. We changed to DIY livery when I got ill first time round and it makes life much easier.
ReplyDeleteRitual is streaming Xfile episode each night before going to bed. No hats though.
ReplyDeleteMOL! MOL! MOL!!
DeleteHAH! Pop loves mindless tv too. He loves all those emergency room shows on Discovery and even the Hallmark Christmas movies. TW stays up till at least 1 a.m. but only watch tv when the Yankees are playing. She does the crossword puzzles and Sodoku in the newspaper and reads the oped column so she can tell me how dumb other humans are.
ReplyDeleteWish you lived closer, we could all have a pajama party! MOL! I don't do the emergency room shows (too gross!) I DO love the Hallmark Christmas movies!
DeleteCutest duo and nightcap! We're mostly night owls here. Odin does mouse patrol and caught a sweet little one last night which I had to save. I can't watch TV after hubby goes to sleep so how do you watch without waking Lenny?
ReplyDeletethank you!!!!!!! The key is we don't have a TV in the bedroom, I watch in the living room :)
DeleteOh yeah...2 AM is the norm around here. I'm a total night owl and then suffer in the morning. TV goes off around 11 though, then it's reading, surfing the web, listening to music or watching videos online.
ReplyDeletebut you are being way more productive than I am!
DeleteWe use to stay up to watch the late night shows, but now we go to sleep early. Cody looks like a great kitty to watch late night tv with. Thanks for sharing the lovely photo. Have a wonderful holiday week.
ReplyDeleteWorld of Animals
I have been trying to go to bed by 11, but it usually ends up closer to 12. I always watch an episode of The Big Bang Theory.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! Our mommy turns into a pumpkin so she goes to bed around 7:30 with hopes to be asleep within an hour because she gets up at 4:20am for boot camp. Even with going to bed so early she's lucky to get 6 hours of sleep at night. She tries to blame that on us but we know that's not true!
ReplyDeleteI wear a hat indoors a lot too; best way to stay warm! I stayed up to 1 am a couple of nights ago, but cat-o-clock came at it's usual time...
ReplyDeleteHa!! Love it about the hat!
DeleteMy human is almost always up late, unless we have a morning therapy cat visit or are flying somewhere. Other than that, she gets to bed around 1 at the earliest and 3 at the latest. Usually she is working on something, or watching a tutorial on Photoshop or Instagram, or something else. Sometimes I am already asleep by the time she shuts down the computer because frankly, all this stuff is not that interesting to a kitty.
ReplyDeleteWhat is interesting is reading all the other humans' habits!
MOL MOL about reading about the other humans. I am like you, 3am at the latest, 1am at the earliest, but YOU are doing productive things, I am not!
DeleteThe lady is not a night person but reading this makes her wish she was. Your ritual sounds fun for you both.
ReplyDeleteVery cute pic of you two by the way!
ReplyDeleteyou are so sweet thank you!
DeleteI'm up in the wee hours of the morning but not by choice, more so because my little one has been keeping me up LOL! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteOhhhh I TOTALLY get it and your "little one" is precious!!! xoxo
DeleteThe mom stays up late enough to watch Jimmy Fallon but she never wears a hat. :)
ReplyDeletebecause you aren't nuts like I am lol
DeleteMom usually falls asleep TRYING to watch things at night!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Florida Furkids
I am a total night owl. I stay up most the night. And I love mindless TV too - as long as it's not overly dramatic or mushy.
ReplyDeleteWith this time change it's been hard to stay up past 10 lately but last night I was up every hour on the hour because someone was having tummy trouble (Matt) so I was watching Christmas movies on the hallmark channel.
ReplyDeleteUsually our nightly routine is my husband watches Dan Patrick which he DVR's during the day and then we watch mountain man or the last Alaskans while I snuggle with Matt & Matilda.
xoxo,
Bell Fur Zoo Mama
We are lucky out her in the west cause we get Jimmy Fallon and the other shows you watch when you watch them, three hours ahead. So yes I manage to stay up till 8 or 9 to see Jimmy Fallon. Shoko likes to watch TV with me. Tyebe hits at the TV and Budd just watches the shenanigans.
ReplyDeleteJean
Chris wakes us up at 5 a.m. so we are tired and go to bed early. It's 10:40 now which is late for us.
ReplyDeleteNO Tv in this palace, and I am always working at night so no chance if we did have one. I do love webinars though, and we watched one with Jericho Writers and their slush pile live event last evening before Mrs H went to bed. Humans, they really have the got the whole work rest thing all screwed up. MOL
ReplyDeletePurrs
ERin
Aww, what a great photo! Nope, I'm not a night owl at all. I blame my early work schedule (I used to get up at 3:45am to work East Coast hours from the West Coast).
ReplyDeleteMOL We luv the idiots on 90 day fiance too. We also like Married at furst sight on Tuesdays. MOL Ya'll look gawjus. Big hugs
ReplyDeleteLuv ya'
Dezi and Raena
I'm usually reading, or trying to visit our blogging pals until about midnight. Then it's off to bed!
ReplyDeleteCaren- Hope your Thanksgiving is lovely! And I definitely will post holiday recipes in a more timely fashion in the future! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteYAY!! Thank you!!!!! You know I meant it with LOVE!!!
