Remember Me Thursday® is a global awareness campaign that was created by the Helen Woodward Animal Center, that unites individuals and pet adoption organizations around the world. The combined influence creates an unstoppable, integrated voice for orphan pets to live in forever homes and to not die waiting for them.
I am a rescue kitty
My litter mates and I were blessed to have had an amazing foster mother and I was adopted by my current Mom when I was only 10 weeks old. My Mom adopted me two weeks after her beloved kitty, Bobo, passed, whom she lived with for 18 beautiful years. Bobo was rescued from the streets when he was about six months old. When Mom adopted me she had a broken heart.
Adopting ME Helped Heal Mom's Broken Heart
Adopting ME helped Mom in many ways. Mom always tells me adopting me was one of the most special days in her life.
I am a Lucky Kitty
Things could have been different.
I never roamed the streets looking for warmth, water, food or shelter.
I wake up every day to a family who loves me. I have a full belly, sunny perches to sit on, toys to play with, warm beds to snuggle and sleep on. I have regular Veterinary care.
I am loved and I give love
My Mom and Dad love me with all of their heart. I try to repay that every day by showing them my ample belly so that they may rub it. I sit with my Mom every night when she watches TV. I "talk" to my Dad at every meal. My Mom and Dad gave me a home where I am loved, I bring them laughs, love, cuddles and kitty kisses in return.
Today I want to acknowledge animals who weren't as lucky as me and pray for those who are still waiting to be adopted.
The most recent hurricane, (Florence) has separated pets from their owners, some because their owners can no longer afford to keep them, some because the owners cannot be found, some because the animals were already homeless. All of these animals DESERVE LOVE, they DESERVE A FOREVER HOME.
It is my deepest hope that they all find loving homes.
It is my deepest hope that they all find loving homes.
Animal lovers across the planet will honor these loving babies
by lighting candles on the exact same day.
Help get the entire world talking about pet adoption!
Tweet, tag, post and share the beauty and life-saving significance of pet adoption on social media. Let’s honor the lost pets who ran out of time and bring awareness to the pets we can still help by working together and using our voices.
"Let’s take social media by storm for orphan pets!"
I want every kitty and doggy to be
as lucky and as loved as I am.
Love, Cody

DeleteThat was a wonderful post Cody. Rescue and adoption rocks, totally rocks!
ReplyDeletethank you dear furiends! xoxo
DeleteCody, I'm am so glad you found your forever home and became the light of your family's life.
ReplyDeleteWe have two rescue cats here - both spent time on the streets before coming to live with us. Every time there's a rain or snow storm, I think of all the animals outside looking for shelter and wondering where they will get their next meal...
Thank goodness for no kill shelters and all the kind people who support, volunteer, and adopt. Pray that the day will come when they are no longer necessary and every animal has a home.
xxoo
Very well said, Cody. Our four legged family members give us far more than we give them. It's a good thing.
ReplyDeleteHave a purrfect Remember me Thursday. My best to your wonderful mom. ♥♥♥
It makes me sad to think of animals in shelters waiting for homes. We advocate for adoption as often as possible.

ReplyDeleteCody, you make lights shine all over your family's house and home and in their hearts. We're so glad you found them.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh my Mama LOVES your comment about me shining lights all over our home and in my pawrents hearts xoxo Love, Cody
DeleteHow precious is your photo with the candle, Cody. You have a wonderful mom and yes you are such a lucky kitty to have not roamed the streets. You and Mr. Jack have that in common. We also prayer that unwanted roaming pets and those in shelters find homes. Let's meow it from the cat tree tops!
ReplyDeleteWe’re purring for all those kitties sitting in shelters today waiting for their forever homes. We hope they don’t have to wait much longer.
ReplyDeleteAdopting a pet is one of the most wonderfully important thing any one of us can do. I'm so glad you got 'dopted Cody, and that you helped to heal your mom's broken heart.
ReplyDeleteExcellent post. I am glad you have such a loving home Cody. I wish all were so fortunate. XO
ReplyDeletethank you! Your kitties are quite lucky too!

ReplyDeleteEmma and Buster
Cody, I love reading about your happy life and how loved you are. We do so wish this was the case for all. This is a very wonderful post.
ReplyDeleteAwww thank you so much!!! Mom isn't so sure right now, I was just getting on her nerves whining for more food and she dumped TONS of kibble in my bowl to shut me up...........!! Love, Cody
DeleteYou are a lucky cat, Cody, and your mom is a lucky human! We are so glad she adopted you, and that you two do such a wonderful job of helping spread the word about how important adoption is. Oh, and we're super grateful you are our friends. :)
ReplyDeleteYes we are both lucky!! You do a much better job than we do though, you LIVE it every single day!!! You do sooo much for the kitties and we are also super grateful that you are OUR furiends!!! xoxo
DeleteWe agree, adopting cats can heal parts of your heart. God never gave our Female Human 2-legged kids. She says that her four-legged kids help fill the "mother's hole" in her heart. Adopting kitties heals humans and felines!

100% agree with this post....I'd love to see all the shelters empty
ReplyDeleteHugs Cecilia
Cody, we're so glad you and your mom found each other. How could you not help heal her, as sweet as you are? Thanks for hopping with us, we appreciate your support!
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely post. All animals deserve loving forever homes and families.

Athena and Marie
What a lovely post.
ReplyDeleteWe think all kitties should have good homes.
Cody you're a lucky boy...
Noodle and crew
You, Tyebe and myself were lucky, Cody. Budd wandered the streets for warmth, food and shelter for a long time till you came to our house. He doesn't have to worry where his next meal is coming from now.
ReplyDeleteShoko
We consider ourselves blessed Cody, to have been rescued, to be loved and cared for. Shaking those who abandon by the er..... * cough cough * OooooKkkkk.... Let's not go there but remember that Karma will find those who abandon cats and dogs and work towards getting every animal a home and every pet spayed and neutered.
ReplyDeleteThis made me feel all the more appreciative that mom and dad decided to take me home. It's hard for us older felines to find furrever homes, and I'm just so darned thankful I was able to turn on my southern charm enough to get their attention. We so wish all kitties could be so lucky.
ReplyDeleteExcellent Post! Cody, I am so happy your Mom go you!
ReplyDeleteAll but 2 of the before cats Mom had (since she was born) are rescues. Jo Jo came from the farm market and Sylvester was born to a rescue. Rescue cats are the best!
