Every day I would watch the Mickey Mouse Club, as I am sure that many of you reading this blog did too! ( I had the Mouse Ears also!) When the closing theme song would play, I would be sad that I had to wait until the next day for another episode.
There was no color TV back then, everything was in black and white, but in my five year old mind, Mickey was REAL!! A walking, talking, red shorts wearing ADORABLE MOUSE. I thought the kids that were members of the Mickey Mouse Club were the luckiest and coolest kids in the World!
(I also couldn't understand why Karen spelled her name funny....but I digress....).........
I tried to share my excitement and memories of Mickey Mouse with Cody. I figured since Mickey was a MOUSE, well....cats LOVE mice, right?
I guess not..................
Anyway, hoping you all have a great weekend!
"WHY? BECAUSE WE LIKE YOU!!!"

MOL! I wonder if that was Mickey Mouse that I was chasing around my human's bathroom that time. My human wound up catching it for me... or maybe it wasn't for me, since she took it away (far away!).
ReplyDeleteMy mom watched this a little bit either at the end of its run or in reruns. She doesn't remember, but she loved the show.
ReplyDeleteSo, now we know...it all started as a child! Cody, poor thing...you are living with a crazy oerson!!!! 😹😹😹
ReplyDeleteLook out Cody! the Mouse is after you, and I thought it should be the other way round!
ReplyDeleteMOL!! This one is too big for me to "dead" MOL!!
DeleteI think it was on around 4 pm am I right?
ReplyDeleteFelinecafe
You actually think I remember what time it was on? lol!!! Hmmm, it might have been...I think the Flintstones were right after ;)
DeleteCareful Cody, a big mouse is going to eat you ...
ReplyDeleteI remember watching Michey Mouse on the TV, when I was a child.
I also had a subscription to a magazine called "le Journal de Mickey". It was ... a long time ago. I'm also from the stone age !
Bonne soirée
Natacha
I would LOVE to see an issue of that magazine!!!
DeleteAh, those were the days, weren't they! But, Cody, you're way too young to be interested in yesteryear. A nameless mouse running through the room would be more your style. :)
ReplyDeleteHa ha...the way cats like mice might be different than the way humans do! Best to just be happy that Cody didn't eat Mickey. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't recall watching it when I was little so I kind of wonder if it wasn't on the channels we got in the 70's/80's but my son loved the newer version of Mickey Mouse clubhouse when he was younger. Disney and Cartoon Network were his jam well and Elmo of course. LOL
ReplyDeleteBell Fur Zoo Mama
It could be worse, Cody. She could have stuck mouse ears on you.
ReplyDeleteNow, I'm feeling old LOL. Loved Mickey but the only mice are the ones Odin catches or the catnip variety xoxo
ReplyDeleteYou're threatening Mickey, Cody??? Oh, that's just wrong! MOL
ReplyDeleteThe Dad watched it too, and had those ear things. I didn't know mice had a club but that's okay!
ReplyDeleteCody, I don't blame you for threatening Mickey Mouse after he snuck up on you like a total stalker! A cat has a right to defend himself, right? :)
ReplyDeleteMy great niece watches The Mickey Mouse Club now I know the secret password is Mishka Moushka Mickey Mouse :)
ReplyDeleteMOL - I'm an old relic, too! I remember that show with great fondness! Thanks for the memories! Purrs from Deb and the Zee/Zoey gang
ReplyDeleteI remember the show too. I never really cared much for it- just didn't get or keep my attention.
ReplyDeleteCODY! I made several "false moves" for you buddy! Have at it!
OMG!
ReplyDeleteWe loved The Mickey Mouse Club!
That's why the human took tap dance lessons...
Noodle and crew
We're pretty sure Mickey is friendly, Cody. Go on, give that mouse a snuggle or two!
ReplyDeleteGosh! Thanks for the memories! I too remember Mickey Mouse club. I wanted to look like Annette...but with carrot read hair and freckles, that never happened!
ReplyDeleteAnd att my place, that stuffie would not have a chance. Marv LOVES to wrestle his stuffed animals
Love Barb
Fun memories. I'm not sure Cody shares your fondness for Mickey.
ReplyDeleteWe did not have a TV in our den...not till I was 14, and then of course all that was in the past...and not too interesting for a highschooler gal, MOL! Yup, I am from the 50's too...yikes! MOL!
ReplyDeleteI do have a Minnie Mouse somewhere in a box, I got her when I was 7, and my brother got a mickey when he was three:)
But I have no idea where that one is:(
Cody, you look like you just might have at MrMickey!!
I was also obsessed with Mickey Mouse when I was a kid. I had tons of stuffed toys, stickers, pencils and books with Mr. Mouse starring. I was told that I once said I was going to marry him. I must have been about three or four. Today, I have abandoned any thoughts on tying the knot but I do still adore Mickey. :)
ReplyDeletethat is the CUTEST thing I have EVER HEARD!! OMG I LOVE IT!!
DeleteMOL! Cody just looks so happy with Mickey. I hope Mickey survived that photo shoot!
