Remember Me Thursday® is a global awareness campaign that was created by the Helen Woodward Animal Center, that unites individuals and pet adoption organizations around the world !!! The combined influence creates an unstoppable,
integrated voice for orphan pets to live in forever homes and to not die waiting for
them.
On September 28, 2017, the entire world will share the
importance of pet adoption and shine a light on all orphan pets waiting in
shelters and rescues. In 2016, people using #RememberTheRescue and
#RememberMeThursday reached nearly 340 million people on social media.
It has been important to me for the past few years to participate in this special event, and I was honored when myself and a number of other bloggers were contacted asking if we would help spread the word again this year! (Whether I had been asked to or not, I ALWAYS participate in this important cause, so it is a no-brainer!!)
In order to help us spread the word
we were sent a box full of goodies which you can see below!!
We received the items pictured above in exchange for agreeing to help spread the word about Remember Me Thursday. We were not compensated monetarily for this post It is our pleasure to only share information that we feel will be of interest to our readers.
This year there are some NEW PRIZES in the #RememberTheRescue photo contest which will run from September 1 through September 30th, (More about the prizes later!!!) For now:
There are 3 ways to enter:
- Post a photo of your rescue pet to Instagram with #RememberTheRescue AND #RememberMeThursday.
- Post a photo of your rescue pet to Twitter with #RememberTheRescue AND #RememberMeThursday.
- Upload a photo of your rescue pet directly to the contest website.
Join us on September 28th 2017!!!
Help get the entire world talking
about pet adoption!
Tweet, tag, post and share the beauty and
life-saving significance of pet adoption on social media. Let’s honor the lost
pets who ran out of time and bring awareness to the pets we can still help by
working together and using our voices.
"Let’s take social media
by storm for orphan pets!"
How nice to see this! I participated last year for the first time and definitely going to spread the word again this year. It was really one of the highlights last year when social media went ablaze with remember me Thursday shares. Can't wait to light those candles again!
ReplyDeleteI sooo agree with you and don't forget the contest!!!!
DeleteSuch a great way to high light rescues,Shelters and Adopting Pets,xx Speedy
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to attract notice for all the homeless animals. Extra Pawkisses for the good cause :) <3
ReplyDeleteIf only kitties could be 'fixed' before litter and litters of kittens who will starve and die horrible deaths. Many do not understand this service to animals. If all the women in the world had been left to procreation without constraint, think of all the human babies that would suffer.
ReplyDeleteInteresting point!! Not sure if you know the Duggers...(humans), they have 19 or 20 kids.......guess she didn't want to be "fixed" MOLMOLMOL!!
DeleteThank you for telling way ahead about this date - our human wants to participate, and now she's enough time to prepare!
ReplyDeleteYou are most welcome! There will be at least one more reminder! Plus, at the end of the post above (in blue) I linked to them twice, you can sign up for reminders there too!! xoxo

What a great reminder for a great day! As you know, I have always been a believer in adopting cats from shelters. As were my parents and grandparents. One f my Grandfather's best friends was instrumental in starting the SPCA in Alberta. My adoption of Marvelous is continuing this family tradition. i am hoping that in Marv's blog we will touch more on the different adoption and fostering options. We love your thoughtful, insightful and well written posts on this topic and we send you our love.
ReplyDeleteBarb and Marv
Oh how pawesome!! Mama will put dat in her calendar right now :)

We participated last year and will participate again this year. What a great cause it is!
ReplyDeleteI hesitate only because we didn't adopt Angel and Chuck from a rescue; a co-worker of my brother simply gave us two kittens! However, rescue is the only type of cat or dog I'll ever get for the rest of my life, so I'll join in!
ReplyDeleteCody was adopted from a Foster Home situation, he was adopted and to me that's all that matters no matter how you got the pet. Dakota was NOT adopted........Bobo was a stray. Regardless, ANYONE can participate!
DeleteAngel Minko was rescued out of a very bad birth home...UGH.
ReplyDeletePipo came from another home, but his birth home was truly a cat loving place.
When we feel ready to fill the kitty gap here, we will do a shelter adoption if at all possible.
