There are conflicting dates for World Pet Memorial Day, but the American Veterinary Medical Association says it is always the second Sunday in June, which would make it fall today, June 11th. Today I am honoring my Bobo. I have honored Angel Bobo EVERY day since he passed in 2007, in my thoughts and heart, and through collages I have made and that are hanging in our home, but today I will formally recognize him. I deeply apologize about the awful photo quality, but all of my photos of Bobo were taken in the days before I blogged. It's the thought that counts, right?
Please take a moment and acknowledge and say a prayer for all of the cats and kittens who are in shelters and pray that they find furever homes.
I also send healing prayers to the kitties that are ill, or are facing challenges, and to all of you who have loved and lost your beloved furbabies. I also am sending prayers to the countless nameless cats that are "lost" every day. Sadly, many will never know the love that our furbabies were blessed to know.
Purrs to you today, and to all those kitties who need homes too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Caren. Bobo was a sweetie.
ReplyDeletePurrs and hugs xx
Athena and Marie
thank you so much! He was a major sweetie to me, but believe it or not, Cody is more affectionate with others than Bobo was. But with ME, Bobo was a true soul kitty xoxo
DeleteLove to all families who have loved and lost a pet.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize today was Pet Memorial Day either....but of course I carry Sammy in my heart every minute of every day anyway. I think of him so often and know that his impact on my life is everlasting. Teddy is a real joy but Sammy was my heart-child. I know you feel that way about Bobo too..........somehow life does go on though doesn't it.........sending you big hugs.
ReplyDeleteLove, Pam
We will be remembering them all today. ♥
ReplyDeleteHugs and love from all of us. We have some special ones to remember here too.

Esp Simba and Toki, as they were such outgoing kitties.
Of course Suki was a real diva kitty and Groucho was quite special cause he was the number one kitty in our furmily...and the furst evfur for petcretary.

Beautiful post and Bobo is loved forever xox I didn't blog as usual but posted memorial posts at my IG accounts. Some of the stories at comments are so touching because they don't have the same support as our blogger community
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweetheart, and what a beautiful post. I'm glad you got to have such a special cat in your life.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie! And we can definitely take time for some thoughts and prayers today (better late than never!).
ReplyDeleteYou know that Angel Bobo is sending purrs right back to you, Caren...right?
ReplyDeleteAngel Bobo was gorgeous and the photos show the love you two shared
ReplyDeleteHugs madi and mom
We did not know such a day exists, but we should all commemorate it.
ReplyDeleteEmma and Buster
We're coming up on five years since our sisfur Sadie went to the bridge on June 22. We think of her daily. Somemommy gets leaky eyes about her too.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy hearing about Angel Bobo <3 Today I'll be thinking about my sweet little Milton, and also Madeline and Phoebe (my two childhood kitties).
ReplyDeleteWe remember our OTRB loved ones every day too. We have a wall filled with framed photos that go back to my Mom's first kitty. We even have photos of a cockatiel, a raccoon and a robin that touched our lives. Sending paw hugs on your sweet Bobo. May his memory always comfort your heart.
ReplyDeleteSending purrs for you today and every day as you remember the fur children who've crossed the bridge.
ReplyDeleteI think about my "angels" every day. It is as if they follow me through my life now. I bet Bobo is around you too and that you feel his presence. Wouldn't it be nice if our kitties could live as long as we do ?
ReplyDeletethe critters in the cottage xo
I love my Angels and miss them each one each and every single day. They are permanently in my heart.
ReplyDeleteThis was one of the most loving posts I have seen. Thank you for it.
I sooo know you do!! (((hugs))) to you....thank you so much for your kind words xoxo
DeleteWhat a beautiful tribute to your sweet Bobo, and all of our angels.
ReplyDeleteSweet Bobo had such a loving home. It's wonderful that he's still in your thoughts every day. We have some angels to think of as well and 7 cats living with us. 4 of them are kittens who were left in front of our home 8 weeks ago. There are so many cats and kittens who get abandoned. It's so sad.
ReplyDeleteBobo sounds like he was such a special kitty. Sending hugs to you and Angel Bobo!
ReplyDeleteI lost my Kitty the same year. It was a bad, BAD year (divorce and moving twice too) ... with the exception of adopting Bear. I regret that I don't have many good pictures of Kitty. Over the last year of her life, I got a few in digital format and I treasure those so deeply. Angel Bobo was a special boy - I read your post from the 6 year anniversary as I was looking to learn more about him - and I love your story about "Tears in Heaven." It's so unfair that we get left behind ... that we have to find a way to live without their light in our every day. That for the rest of our lifetimes, all we have a memories (as beautiful as they are).
ReplyDeleteOh I am sooo sooo sorry (((hugs))) divorce and losing your kitty....beyond heartbreaking (and moving too). I had lost my job approx 3 months before Bobo passed. In hindsight, it turned out to be a good thing because I was able to be with him during his final months. Thanks sooo much for caring about my boy and I am sooo sooo sorry about "Kitty" Sending you much love and (((hugs))))
DeleteBobo sounds like a wonderful companion. Very much understand what you mean about feeling left behind! You were both lucky to have each other!
ReplyDeleteI carry Marvin, Tabitha, Samantha, Morris and Frisky in my heart every day. Purrs to you!
ReplyDeleteHugs and purrs to you. Beautiful remembrance.
