Hi dear furiends! Guess what today is? It is National Bird Day!
My Angel Bobo was a huge fan of birds and was blessed to have a window seat where he could view them and "chirp" to them as long as he wanted. Many years ago I bought him a video for cats called Betty Bird. This was way before the days of the Internet and he loved it so much that he used to climb on top of our console TV and hang upside down watching it.I searched to try and find that video, but couldn't find it anywhere.
I did find a number of other bird videos for cats, most are much too long to post on a blog, I will often load them on my phone and let Cody watch. He loves them and it keeps him busy for a while. Here is the shortest one I could find.....grab some snacks, a kitty or two and enjoy!
I found this video and you can find many others at Videos For Cats.
I luv watchin burds!
ReplyDeleteWe like the video! Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteI didn't want to watch it! Maybe I am spoiled because I can go outside on a leash, and I feel much closer to them than when I watch from the window.
ReplyDeleteI remember when they sold videos like that at the pet store.
ReplyDeleteBirds are fun to watch....I always thought it would be cool to FLY and now I can up here at the Rainbow Bridge!
ReplyDeleteLove, Angel Sammy
We love the birds at our house.

We have our daily bird reality show outside the front window where the bird feeder is. Cat bro Bert steals my bed on the window bench to get comfy and watch for hours.
ReplyDeleteI have a bird DVD that our cats love--sometimes. It's so hard to tell when they're going to be in the mood to watch birds! I always love watching birds.
ReplyDeleteMy cats don't have much interest in the birds at the feeder, maybe they will like this video better.
ReplyDeleteDid Cody enjoy this? I hope so. I know they love to get in the window and watch birdie television.
ReplyDeleteHave a purrfect day Cody. My best to your wonderful mom. ♥♥♥
We like the bird video for us and not no kitty

MOL MOL MOL!!!
DeleteI love watching birds, so this is fun for me! The cats can watch too, if they want...
ReplyDeleteHappy National Bird Day! I wish I could post a video in the comments - Sampson just watched the entire video and was completely entranced with the birds. He was even reaching out to paw at the screen. He always loves a good animal video. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThe same to you!! OMC THANK YOU for making me smile today! I sooo needed that! I am sooo happy that Sampson loved it! Believe it or not, I have not shown Cody this one....I have others that I show him from my phone. Will show him this possibly right after his lunch! Thanks for making my day! xoxo
DeleteThis is fun! I extended the video to play full screen on my computer but I think those enormous birds scared Mickey Mouser and Rufus the Red. I'll try again later on a smaller screen. Don't you love it when they make those chattering noises at the birds?

I did the same thing! Cody's eyes got really wide...then he looked at it for a bit...then he looked OUTSIDE.........silly cat....when he heard the birds he thought they were outside instead of on the computer! When I show him videos on my phone I think he likes it better because he is closer to it. Oh yes I used to love when my Bobo did those chattering noises, Cody has never done that. xoxo
DeleteWe are so lucky to have live bird and squirrel TV when on the catio or when sitting in the huge window in the kitchen. Mom says that there is a video that she bought back in the days of VCRs that the kitties before us used to watch. She said it had all kinds of critters on it and was about 30 minutes long. She doesn't remember the name. It was way before the days of YouTube. We are spoiled at our house! XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
ReplyDeleteI bet it was the one that I had! Yep, it was waaay before Youtube.....I had two, one was Betty Bird and I don't remember the name of the other, but they were both around 30 minutes long.
DeletePipo loves to watch our birds at the feeders. We have window seats at three of our windows for good viewing times! Does that mean we have multiple channels in our Burd TV?? MOL!
ReplyDeleteYour video was pawsome!
We received the cat coloring book and we love it! Thanks a bunch!!!!!

Bear sits in the window and watches outside ... but I don't think he has a particular interest in birds (he doesn't chatter like Kitty did). He's odd, he was homeless for the first 8 months of his life, but he seems scared of birds. Kitty was always inside ... but on the rare occasions she managed to get out, she'd chase birds. Bear? Nope. That said, I've had a few screen savers and videos I've put up for him and he watches them, so it's time to browse the selection ... thank you.
ReplyDeleteOoooh, awesome!
ReplyDeleteYours sincerely,

Very interesting! I'll have to show the kitties.
