A few weeks ago our friends over at 15 and Meowing had a pawesome giveaway and we won!!! The main prize was the Squeak N Snap , which I had heard about and desperately wanted to try!
What is SqueakNSnap?
The concept is genius, and using the SqueakNSnap is a breeze! It is super easy to use. Most of us who photograph children and pets know just how hard it can be to get them to look at the camera. SqueakNSnap is a cute little bear, with a button hidden in his belly, that when you plug the end of the cord that comes with it into your iPhone or Android phone headset jack or hole (with the camera app OPEN), each time you squeeze the bear's belly, it makes a squeaky (hence the name) sound. The "squeaky" sound is nearly guaranteed to capture your child or your pet's attention. With each "squeak" the camera "SNAPS!!" a photo!! Brilliant!! No more struggling to get the attention of your child or pet, they will automatically look in the direction of the camera, (most of the time!)
The only glitch that I thought of is, if you have an iPhone that came out BEFORE the new 7, the SqueakNSnap will work. Apple has removed the headphone jack from the new iPhones, but I have a feeling that SqueakNSnap will come up with something to compensate for that.
Here is Cody's reaction when he first heard the "squeak"
I will say that Cody wasn't as interested in the squeaky sound as I had expected him to be, but it worked super well with Dakota (I think dogs are just more tuned into that "squeaky" sound).
I will use the SqueakNSnap until I get the new iPhone. One thing I learned is your first instinct is to keep squeezing the bear's belly to get the attention of your pet, but each time you squeeze, the button in the bear's belly, the SqueakNSnap takes a photo. (I had about 20 of the same photo until I realized that, because stupid me was too lazy to read the directions FIRST before trying it.)
Dakota is my more reluctant "model" and it worked like a champ to get his attention, I definitely recommend SqeakNSnap if you have a hard to photograph pet or child.
Not only did I win the SqueakNSnap, Ellen generously included those hilarious "greeting" cards shown above, along with two handmade cat toys! That was sooo sweet of her!! If you read the cards above, do you think that Ellen is trying to send Mom a subliminal message? Hmmmm.........
Cody particularly enjoyed the toys!
Check out the video below that shows just how much of a great time Cody had with the toys that Ellen had made! It is only 48 seconds long, be sure to watch around the 47 second mark! Cody pounces on the toy, does a somersault, and lands smack dab in his bed!! He could NOT have orchestrated that better!
Thanks so much Ellen and kitty family!!!!!! I am going to have fun trying to get Dakota and Cody to look at the camera more, I am probably going to frame those cards because they are too hilarious to part with, and Cody will continue to have a blast with his toys!
Looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice prize package - I love the toys! Funny enough, when my human heard about the iPhone 7 losing the headphone jack, the first thing she thought about was this device!
ReplyDeleteThose toys look as though they will be fun to play with.
ReplyDeleteMOL We loved the video, Cody. You are a great hunter..MOL :D Congratulations on your squeaksnap. We are curious what comes out of it :D Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend :) <3
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea. Newton likes to look away just as the shutter clicks because he is afraid of a bright flash, so the squeaksnap sounds like a clever idea!
ReplyDeleteWay to go Cody, you've got the moves pal!!!
ReplyDeleteThe SqueakNSnap sounds like a great idea. Also - looking good, Cody?
ReplyDeleteAww! fun for cats heheh! cute ;-)
ReplyDeleteHave a toytastic weekend :-)
Cody is a great hunter. Yes he is.
ReplyDeleteHave a purrfect Feline Friday Cody. My best to your wonderful mom. ♥♥♥
How cool is a Squeak and Snap! And Ellen's toys are always a hit; she's a crotching genius!
ReplyDeleteyes and yes!!!
DeleteThat Squeak N Snap sounds very cool. What wonderful toys - Cody is having lots of fun with them!
ReplyDeleteThe Squeak N Snap sounds great! I want to upgrade my iPhone 6...It will be interesting to see how quickly companies upgrade their products to go with the 7 change. But I would definitely want to give this a try! And that video of Cody is SO ADORABLE!
ReplyDeleteIt is great! The SqueakNSnap team left a comment on Dakota's blog today (I blogged about it there too) and said that the iPhone 7 has some kind of an adapter that you can plug in and it will work with it. If I were you? I would hold off on the 7 until the glitches are ironed out. I would never, ever get the newest ones until they have been around a few months......the first batches ALWAYS have problems. I will upgrade too but I am waiting. Thanks about the video!!!
DeleteCody is certainly handsome. Bear loves Ellen's toys too ... he goes nuts :)
ReplyDeleteThis squeak and snap is a real great idea. I do have problems to take pictures of my cats when I want them to look in the right direction !
ReplyDeleteSomebody has to create one that works with a camera.

DeleteConcats on winning those great prizes from Ellen and her kitties. It looked like you were having such fun, Cody.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like fun. I have those cards and you'd have to be passive aggressive to send some of them ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love the video, Cody is too cute- and a great hunter. Nothing pleases me more than seeing a kitty enjoying toys I made. I am glad you are able to work the SqueaknSanp, it is a great idea. Also glad you like the cards, Phoebe had them as part of the giveaway because I was so grumpy when I couldn't make it work :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!!!!!!! Hunting is one of Cody's most favorite things....well, next to EATING lol!!! Yep I love the SqueakNSnap and am just thrilled! Thank you so much for all of the goodies, it was so sweet of you!!!!!!! Cody and I are both "grumpy cats" so those cards are purrfect!!!
DeleteWhat fun goodies! Cody, you are quite the acrobat! I wish Sam would show that much enthusiasm when playing with toys!
ReplyDeleteHe seriously is an athletic kitty lol!!! Don't feel bad, Cody isn't always that enthusiastic, I think it was the time of day that I caught him :)
DeleteWhat great prizes!!! Miss Ellen is wonderful, isn't she!! We love her toys, too!
ReplyDeleteThanks fur stopping by my blog! I am now following you. That looks like a fun squeaky toy fur peeps! I'mfollowing you on Pinterest too!

DeleteWhoa! TW needs that bear cos I won't look at the camera. Those are some great prizes and I loved Cody's video.
ReplyDeleteYep she does!!!!!! Thanks so much! Cody was lucky and I was too!
DeleteWhat a fun play session, Cody!
ReplyDeleteAnd concats on winning that device, its a super idea. Wonder if it would work with an Ipad?
Thanks!! Good question! I linked to them in a few places above...you can visit their site and check that out. This is NOT a "formal" review for them since I did NOT work with the company directly.........if I worked with them directly I would ask, since I won it from another blogger, I will let you do the legwork ;)
Deletexoxo
Appawrently they do work with IPads...something to add to our wishlist, MOL!!
DeleteGREAT to know and THANK YOU for checking that out! xoxo
DeleteCody loves this toys from awesome Mom Ellen! We love the ones she made for us, too. :)
ReplyDeleteThat Squeek N Snap is a great idea. Maybe we'll try that out with the shelter cats who just do not want to look at the camera. :)
Great idea!!!
DeleteOh this blogger! Actually the whole technical mess here on the net! I came over as I clicked on your blog but I think they just mess with us. I just kept commenting at my blog as a visitor and one day it let me sign in again! Today I am having fits with it! AOL let me out and g mail locked me out! Blogger took me to a page saying I have no blog so I went in as a visitor and it let me in! Crazy world of techies! Darn nerds! You share fun here for those feline friends. Have a great week and I will be thinking and praying for you! Good luck. Another blogger said pic monkey was giving her fits! I can never get into pic monkey! Argh......
ReplyDeleteOMG I just tried to reply and Blogger deleted ME lol! I am so sorry you had to have such a struggle with Blogger. it can be like that sometimes (WordPress too!) Thanks so much for your kind words. You have a good week too and BTW I stopped using Picmonkey ages ago. I am one of the few who does NOT love it!!!
DeleteNow I see the crazy blogger is not letting me sign in with my blog info but as Phamilyblog who has no blog! LOL! Just can not win with these very nerdy techies!
ReplyDeleteWe love Ellen's toys so much. And that bear is such a great idea!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet you two are! XXOO
ReplyDeleteSuch a good idea! I definitely could have used this when I was training Choppy and Schooner to look at the camera!
ReplyDeleteHey, great idea ... Dougie LOVES squeaky toys, so much better than regular toys; and he seems to play with them more, and more often than my kitties ever did. If this can make taking pics a bit easier, am all for it!
ReplyDeleteAnd Caren: big hugs and thanks for adding our little Christmas blurb to your sidebar! So thoughtful and generous of you to do that for us, really appreciate it. You are a good friend ...
Love, Ann
Isn't it genius??? Yep, dogs are much more tuned into the "squeak" than kitties are for sure!!!! Big (((hugs))) back and you are most welcome!!!!! I love the ones you did for us a few years ago. YOU are a good friend too! Love back at ya!
DeletePS ... oopsie, I hit the publish key too quickly ... have tried a couple times to comment over at Dakota's blog, but had problems for some reason (???) I especially enjoyed a post about fall's arrival.
ReplyDeleteHugs again, Ann (and Dougie Dog)
Probably because Dakota's blog is a WordPress blog? Cody's is Blogger. If you aren't registered to comment on WordPress they give you a hard time. Thanks so much about the Fall post for Dakota and for trying! (((hugs))) back!
DeleteThat sure is quite the jackpot you hit! Aren't Ellen's toys just the best, Cody? The kitties around here have ours thrown all over the house!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the idea of the SqueakNSnap. Hmmm, I wonder if something like that would make for an easier time snapping a picture of my elusive Eddy...
