Michigan Animals Seeking ‘Forever Homes’ at FAMD’s Adoption Event

·         Adoption tent will be in parking lot of Allen Park Home Depot on August 13
·         More than 50 dogs, cats, puppies and kittens will be available for adoption

Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit (FAMD) is looking to run out of their inventory of adorable cats and dogs on Saturday, August 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the adoption event in the Home Depot parking lot, 3163 Fairlane Drive, Allen Park.

“August 20 is International Homeless Animal Day,” said Elaine Greene, executive director, FAMD.   “Our goal is to have all of our shelter dogs and cats in forever homes by that date.  Help us place all of our animals by visiting the adoption event August 13 at Home Depot.”

The International Society for Animal Rights has declared August 20 as National Homeless Animals Day. This holiday is dedicated to raise awareness and educate people on the statistics of homeless pets across the nation.

So far this year, more than 800 animals have found new homes, thanks to the Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit.
