Lovely peace globe; wonderful message. We love looking at all the globes today. Did you know Pop once spoke to John Lennon when he was answering phones for WBAI's marathon? Peace out!
thank you! Wait a minute....John Lennon was answering phones for a marathon???? Now I find that hard to believe! Seriously, but I DO believe you! That had to have been BEYOND COOL!
No, Pop was answering phones and John Lennon called in a pledge. Pop said he'd recognize his voice anywhere so he didn't say anything smart like "You're John Lennon and I'm the Pope." HAH!
Wait a minute, with his MILLIONS John Lennon called in his credit card over the PHONE? Hmmm...wonder if he ordered from "As Seen On TV" too lmao!!!!! Bet your Pop almost fell off of the chair!
No, he pledged money and sent a check later. No credit cards back then. The donations were to keep a listener sponsored non-profit Pacifica radio station on the air. He'd been interviewed on that station many times. Pop's head was in the clouds for quite a while. No, Pop didn't say how much the pledge was for.
Those little grey kitties on either side of Caren and Cody... are they new? I've never noticed them before. Hard to believe I wouldn't have noticed two little ones THAT cute! I LOVE 'EM!!!
