Animal lovers across the planet will honor these loving babies
by lighting candles on the exact same day.
I am a rescue kitty. I was blessed that I had an amazing foster mother and was adopted by my Mom at a young age, but things could have been different.
Today I want to acknowledge animals who weren't as lucky as me and pray for those who are still waiting to be adopted. May they all find loving homes.
Join the Remember Me Thursday movement and see how YOU can be involved.
Hear, hear and we are so hoping all those looking for forever homes find one. Have a tremendous Thursday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Great cause. So many cats to be loved, yet so few hearts :(
ReplyDeleteIt makes me so sad to think about all the babies who have lost their lives in the shelter. And it makes me sad to see the babies in the shelter, too. Every fur baby deserves a very loving human and forever home! How I wish that all shelters could be no-kill. Maybe someday... We lit a cnadle for all of our friends at Cat Care awaiting homes.
ReplyDeleteWe are so glad that you have such a loving mommy, Cody! <3
We pray with you Cody,xx Speedy and Rachel
ReplyDeleteThis is such a good idea to light a candle for all those kitties that had to go to the bridge since they couldn't find a home. It is all just too sad.
ReplyDeleteTake care.
We are lighting lots of candles honoring shelter pets. Golden LOVE. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteWe have been and lit a candle for those less fortunate animals.

ReplyDeletePawsome event. I hope many kitties and other animals will be adopted!
ReplyDeletePurrs
Lit a candle.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post! I will light candles and shed some tears.
ReplyDeleteNoodle
Cody you and I both were so lucky to be rescued and adopted and I know all of us who have wish the same were true for all the other animals looking for homes. It's sad that so many leave for the Bridge never knowing the kindness of humans or the safety or having a forever home. We've lit a candle.....let's hope a lot of adoptions happen today - all over the world!
ReplyDeleteKitty Hugs, Sammy
Sammy you are so right!!!! It breaks my heart and my Mom's too! Wish all animals were as lucky as us! Love, Cody
Deletethat is a beautiful image with Cody..
ReplyDeletethanks so much ((((hugs)))
DeleteFar, far, far too many innocent lives have been lost. It's neither right nor fair. Things must change for the better. They just must.
ReplyDeletePurrs,
Nissy
I remember.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sad truth :( But a very impawtant day to help raise awareness for adoption.
ReplyDeletethat is a good candle to light.....
ReplyDeleteWe are especially remembering all those differently-abled kitties like our sweet Maxwell who are euthanized in shelters simply because they are deaf or blind or have CH....
ReplyDeleteWell said, Cody! My human remembered and then forgot to put it in her post!!! What a lame brain!!
ReplyDeleteWe remember. Like Maxwell, Faraday and Allie, we are thinking of all of the cats like our Ashton who weren't "perfect" and were euthanized because for lack of marketability without being given a chance.
ReplyDeletexoxo Cody....this is a day we are thankful and a day we have hope for the future where all paws have a home of their own.
ReplyDeleteI'm so grateful for no kill shelters like PAWS. Our hearts are big but our square footage is never big enough.

Maggie
We will remember and fight for them every single day.
ReplyDeleteWe're doing the virtual thing. We don't have real candles anymore after a few instances of flaming fur and clothing. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
ReplyDeleteWe sedded a little purrayer for them today.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful post, Cody & Caren. We're holding those kitties who are fighting for their lives close in our hearts. Oh we wish we could save every single one of them. Our hearts break that we can't.
ReplyDeletexo
Lovely post Cody.
ReplyDeleteI lit a virtual candle Thursday for all of them. My wish is all animals will find good forever homes.

I had a dream about an orange cat named Mesa. If one turns up it feels destined to take it home. I wish I could give homes to more furballs.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that you ended up in a happy, loving home, Cody, and wish it could be that way for all animals. I was out of town this week with limited computer access, so I missed out on this movement, but I think it was a wonderful thing, and I will always pray for all the homeless animals.
ReplyDeleteJan, Wag 'n Woof Pets
We lit a candle! When we were on the site yesterday, so had over 4 thousand people! It is a good idea :)
ReplyDeletethe critters in the cottage xo
Very nice! We light a yearly candle for the lost and homeless animals. It doesn't always seem like it and it is never enough, but collectively our bunches of pet bloggers are making an impact.
ReplyDeleteLots of purrs and hugs for all the Kitties & Dogs to find a forever home!~!
ReplyDeleteHi Cody & Caren!! Hope you are having a good day!!
Your TX furiends,
It makes us so sad to think of all the pets who had to go to the Bridge because they could not find forever homes. Thank you for sharing this important post.
ReplyDeleteBeing a shelter cat myself, I've been tweeting about this for a week only to find out that TW didn't have time to help me write a post. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteOn thursday we indeed lit a beautiful candle inside and one outside..we are fervent believers in adoption is the best option and feel for all those sweet creatures feline, canine, equine, bovine, ovine etc that don't have that home.Hugs and loves Fozziemum xx
ReplyDeleteSuch a bittersweet concept... so sad to think of those that never had the love of a furever home. My heart goes out to them and purrs to all the kitties like you, Cody, who were blessed with such a warm and loving home...
