With Sadness and Love, for Homer Blind Wondercat

Cody and I would like to share our love and sympathy with millions of others who are mourning the passing of a cat like no other, Homer Blind Wondercat.
Photo used with permission by Gwen Cooper

He was the cat of author Gwen Cooper who I first met on Twitter back in 2010. Homer's book, Homer's Odyssey  was also the first book I had reviewed on Cat Chat as well as, EVER.

My heart is hurting for Gwen, I don't have eloquent words to share, just my deepest sympathy and love.

Homer, THANK YOU for being a most AMAZING YOU, Gwen, thank you for sharing Homer with the world and teaching the public that not only do BLACK CATS make wonderful pets, but BLACK CATS, BLIND CATS and any cat with a disability is just as able to give and receive love as any cat can.

Our deepest love and sympathy,

Caren and Cody

    1. Yes there is, it's called catnip heaven and there are just millions of untold miles of it:) As soon as they eat it grows fresh again. That's where all kitties go after crossing the rainbow bridge. Of course that is where I will be heading when it is time for me to see my kitties again.

  8. Oh no! I read Homer's Odyssey earlier this month and I was so happy to learn that Homer was still alive and well. Gwen's love for this cat was so apparent throughout the book. I wish her a lot of courage in these difficult times.

  19. So not easy losing a furbaby they always take a piece of your heart with them when they go only because they can't let go either and so that we never forget the love they taught and have given us in return.

  27. This is very sad. I loved "Homer's Odyssey", and "friended" him on Facebook after reading the book. I learned of Homer on the "Cats 101" show on Animal Planet. Coincidentally, that episode also featured the Turkish Van breed. I had two Vans, until my beloved Faerie had to be put to sleep on Friday. I sent Gwen a note, letting her know that Faerie would befriend Homer, as she loves companionship, whether human or cat.
