DeleteI love this book. I've read it at least 4 times.. it has a wonderful flow to it and is my go to book when I want to curl up with something that I cannot let go of. I'm eager to see the movie, but worried because it may not measure up to the images from the book.
ReplyDeletethanks so much! I imagine I should read the book first? The images from the trailer are beautiful and I saw a better trailer on TV that looked gorgeous. I am quite intrigued by this. Thanks so much for sharing!
DeleteYes, I would highly recommend reading the book first. The book has wonderful descriptions. I found the book by accident at the library years ago, I picked it solely by the color of the binder.
DeleteLove it.. I've read it several times and it's my go-to book when I'm feeling down. I'm just worried that the movie may not match the images I got from the book. But there's only one way to find out. =^.^=
ReplyDeletelove it that it is your "go to book for when you are feeling down" sounds like my kind of book!
DeleteI would recommend it.. not sure if they will omit some of the things from the movie.. I think they added a few things.. but it's a wonderful book. I found it by accident at the library.. I picked it only by the color of the binder.
ReplyDeleteso happy to hear this! Thank you for the glowing endorsement!

DeleteI read and loved the book when it first came out. When I heard it was going to be a movie I couldn't believe how they were going to pull it off technically but just read about the CGI effects on the weekend. You can read the book before or after seeing the film but please do, it's beautifully written.

ReplyDeleteLife of Pi won Canada reads way back there (2003) and I read it then. I enjoyed it and my friends and I discussed how it could make a great movie. I'm surprised it took so long.
ReplyDeleteNellie's Mom
The Human liked the book a lot. She was feeling iffy about the movie, but we admit the trailer looks promising! I will have to wait for the DVD of course, as I don't do crowds....
ReplyDeleteThat trailer gave me goosebumps! That movie looks so intense and intriguing! :)
ReplyDeleteCloon's Human: Yep, I am planning to see it this week too! Haven't read the book but I want to shortly because of the spirituality and story line. I share your fascination with tigers (that tiger walk I went on in Australia was a dream-come-true).
