ReplyDeleteHi, Caren! This is just the coolest thing! Cody looks so suave and debonair!! Thank you for your sweet comments on my art (now following you, BTW ~ I thought I already was, but I wasn't ~ ♥) ~ Anyway, I just never know how to price my art, that's why I haven't put any on Etsy in a long time...I sold one ACEO on there about 4 years ago, then subsequent ones just sat there...so, I don't know (it sold for $18, to another Etsy artist)...there is one artist on eBay, Gail Hogan (if you have time, look up "Hogan ACEO" and look at her completed auctions...WOW ~ most $200-$300, but I have seen them go to $500. She has a following, and I've just never stuck with it on there long enough to get that...not that I ever would get prices like she does :) (she is a very sweet person, too ~ she did a card of one of my Angel Kitties a few years ago and sent it to me...we were in a group togther on eBay, and I had posted about him)~ I did sell one ACEO for $42 last summer, though ~ I think $50 has been my highest. And of course, I would never set my price that high...that was a 9.99 starting amount. I figured I might put some slightly larger pieces on Etsy, maybe 4x6 or 5x7...and maybe some ACEOs as well ~ you've encouraged me! (Still have no idea how to price things, though!)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful evening, Dear!
Hugs,
Anne
Hooray for the winners, they are getting some good stuff!
ReplyDeleteCody, You look verreh suave and sophisticatted there, my Man!
ReplyDeleteDo you want to know how old and pathetic my Human is? Except for Lou Ferrigno, she did not know a single one of those famous peeps. Sigh. But she knowed YOU and that's what matters, eh ;-)
Looks like a lovely prize =)
ReplyDelete@anne thank you so much for commenting and for following! What I would do is search "cat art" on the site and try to find some work comparable to yours. That would be a a good starting point for pricing.
ReplyDeleteYou reminded me of my father (who was a renowned Editorial cartoonist) when he used to freelance, artists NEVER know how to price their work. True artists don't. That's why they have managers. My mother used to price my father's work. It is a combination of your talent, time and uniqueness. In my mind those that can readily price their "art" on their own are more into the "art for money's sake" rather than creating artwork because of a compulsion that is a gift from God.
How cool is that!??! Concats to all the winners! We were sure sorry to miss the Emmy Pawty - Gracey and her mom do a pawesome job!
