This has been all over our news too. Sometimes I think the world has gone mad, but I think human nature remains the same. It's just that we hear of all these terrible things almost instantly now, from just about anywhere on the planet. Really can bog the spirit down and make one wonder how the heck humans ever evolved enough to be the dominant species.
And you know, I kept thinking, what of this young man's parents, his family? What must they feel about their son, what he's done?
Cody & Caren, that's very beautiful. This little Colorado kitty thanks you. We're still in shock over this senseless act of violence. It's scary to know this could happen anytime, anywhere. I wish we could figure out what goes wrong in people's heads to make them do these things so we could stop it.
@pumpkinpuddy thank you. We wanted to acknowledge this horrific event in some way but weren't sure how. My heart goes out to you. I didn't realize you live in Colorado. You are so right. It is always horrific anytime or anyplace this sort of event happens, but to happen at a place where people go to relax and COMPLETELY have their guard down, I just can't wrap my head around it. I heard this morning that he had failed some academic program he was in. Like it or not, this evil individual is a genius (academically) and I am thinking that he never knew what it was to fail. The entire event has upset me beyond belief. ((((hugs)))) to all of you.
What a horrible thing to happen. I feel especially for the family of the Denver woman who narrowly missed being caught in a deadly shooting in a Toronto shopping mall! What is the world coming to. Nellie's Mom
What happened at Colorado was just horrific. How and why would a human find pleasure in killing another person or animal for "fun" is something I can never comprehend. What's wrong with them?
We are still stunned at this senseless act of violence. Our prayers are with all of the people at the theater, their families, the first responders, Aurora's police force and all who were involved.
I wonder too why others haven't blogged about this horrible event. But maybe it's affected some so much that they can't find the words. Mine was short.
Will never ever be able to figure out why these things have to happen. So sad. Thanks for stopping by and leaving the mom birthday wishes for her special day!
We're purring for them!

@Fuzzy Tales, what has floored me is when they told the mother, she was NOT surprised. The parent's lack of a response is quite disconcerting
ReplyDeleteSad, sad, sad, so much hurt.
ReplyDeleteIt is all way too sad, that is for sure. Those poor people in Colorado. Take care.
