We really like the idea of pet insurance but the last time we checked, the only pet insurance available was only for pedigrees (with certs) AND below the age of 10 years. Since none of us qualify (we aren't pedigrees), Mommy said she'll just have to put aside money every month in the event of an emergency.
I never knew the cost for insurance was so reasonable. I am having budget concerns right now but when things get better I will look into getting insurance.
I guess I'm gonna look into it. I didn't do it before, but then Knuckles had that week of sleeping and not acting right and that cost HH $600. That convinced her that she should at least look at it. Thanks for this post. It will get her started.
E&F used to be insured but when they reached 10 years they both almost trebled even though we had never claimed on Flynn's and only once for Eric. I keep the money in the bank now so I know I can pay if it is ever needed.
Hi Everyone! First i want to apologize for not being able to visit everyone the way I would like to but have been busy with LIFE and not blogging....I am trying to visit everyone as soon as I can.
BTW I just signed up for insurance with Trupanion after 2 years of featuring them on my blog. They came highly recommended from Annette of Snoopy's dog blog fame and a girl at my Vet who loves them. I wanted to sign up BEFORE Cody and Dakota are much older and I am happy that I did!
Well with 20 cats, it would cost as at the very least $240 a month and we just don't have that much money. But it probably is a good idea. Thanks for the info
Hi everyone. Thanks for posting the infographic, Caren! We hope it gives some insight for those who don't know much about it. I did want to address one concern - pet insurance is NOT just for pedigree pets. All pets can be insured. We all know those mixed breeds can get into just as much mischief as the purebreeds. haha. And Trupanion covers all dogs and cats between 8 weeks and 14 years. :)
Thank you for posting this helpful image/infographic! It really helps to break down the basics when it comes to pet insurance. I am surprised to see how few Americans have insurance for their pets. It's really sad to see. Pets can be such an important part of our lives and now there are many pet insurance cost efficient options available. It can really help in the long run if your pet should get injured or sick.

ReplyDeleteI never really knew if it actually was something that really was a good as it sounds.
ReplyDeleteMy mom still hasn't got me any insurance yet! She is still sitting on the thought.

ReplyDeleteFaRADaY: Mommy took one look at me as a kitten and said, "he's gotta be on insurance." I has nooooooo idea why *innocent look*
ReplyDeleteMaxwell: it might have something to do with your nickname, George of the Jungle...
Allie: we're all covered. Mother had Ryker covered through VPI all his life, and after he went to the RB, she did the math. It was worth it!
