In honor of Petfinder's 15th birthday, they are asking bloggers everywhere to pledge to blog about adoptable pets on March 15, 2011. Here's what you can do!
- Add a badge to your Web site to show your support.
- Take our pledge that you will tell one person about pet adoption on March 15.
- EVEN IF YOU DON'T HAVE A BLOG YOU CAN:
- On March 15, donate your Facebook status and photo to an adoptable Petfinder pet. Simply replace your photo with one from the Adopt-the-Internet All-Stars gallery and post one of these messages:
- More than 320,000 pets are waiting for homes on Petfinder.com. Help Petfinder Adopt the Internet today and find forever homes for as many as possible!
- I adopted my pet from Petfinder and now I want to help get this pet adopted! If you want to help pets in need of forever homes, please repost this!
- On March 15, share an adoptable Petfinder pet on Twitter with the hashtag #adopttheinternet.
- Add a link to your blog, Facebook or Twitter post on the Petfinder page on March 15! (Come back that day to find out how.)
Done, done, done, done, done and done.... Thanks for pointing this out. I'll get busy and get ready for the 15th of March.
ReplyDeletepawhugs, Max
Thanks for this. We've added a badge and we'll see if the mom can remember to do a post. She sends in a cat-of-the-week feature to a local newspaper on behalf of an area shelter, and there are always so many sweeties in need of forever homes (all on Petfinder, btw).

ReplyDelete@Catsparella you are welcome!! Thank you! Have a great weekend! xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteDone :)
ReplyDeleteCan I adopt one of them but I live so far. I will do a thorough search on the page soon.
Thanks for the info - there are so many poor animals looking for homes, three of my cats are from the RSPCA and Ben the bunny is from a rabbit rescue. I'll definitely be adding a badge.
ReplyDeleteI like all of your suggestions and will certainly do some of them!! I just saw my sister's new adopted kitty last night and my own two guinea pigs are adopted.
ReplyDeleteThe Human is pretty stupid about this stuff (well, come to think of it, she's pretty stupid about lots of stuff!) but it's such a good idea she'll give it a try!
ReplyDelete@Novroz, I wish I could adopt another too but I can't :( Thanks for checking it out!
ReplyDelete@Spitty noooo your human isn't stupid at all! Believe me if my Mom can do ANYTHING your human can! Love, Cody
@Art and Sew Forth, thanks! The suggestions came from Petfinder, I was just the messenger! Awwww you adopted guinea pigs? That is soooo cute!
@Barbara, that is so cool that your rabbit is from a rescue! I never knew they even had rabbit rescues! Cody was adopted from a foster organization that was at Petco in 2007...my first cat was picked up as a stray (by me and I adopted him). We did buy our Sheltie but that was because we couldn't find any Shelties in our area for months and months or we would have adopted him too.
I put a memo on my calendar for March 15. When I was looking for a kitty, I searched on Petfinder page-it enabled me to find a shelter and I eventually adopted Niko. I am very thankful for the Petfinder website.
ReplyDelete@Tamago YAY!! Awwww thanks for sharing how you adopted Niko! That was beautiful!!! xoxo
ReplyDeletethis is a great cause - we're in!
ReplyDeleteChris, Gidget, Rosie and Lola

ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic idea. "The Boys" and I "are in" and will be helping get the word out on March 15.
Thanks for posting about this.
And thanks for stopping by Kittens 'n Things.
Aunty Caren,
ReplyDeleteI've told Mama to note it down....a reminder of sorts. Hmmm....can I put Brad up for adoption? har har har *evil laughs*
