There are 4 duties to perform to receive this award:
1. Thank and link back to the person who awarded you this award
2. Share 7 things about yourself
3. Award 15 recently discovered great bloggers
4. Contact these bloggers and tell them about the award!
OK, 7 things about me that you don't know:
1) I collect cookbooks and am obsessed with The Food Network and The Cooking Channel and have a "girl crush" on Rachael Ray.
Rachael Ray from The Rachael Ray Show Facebook Page |
2) In college I actually was an ART major! I actually USED to be able to draw. My favorite medium to work with was pen and ink or graphite. I can only work in black and white or gray....I can't and never could, PAINT!
3) I have always wanted to write and illustrate children's books....who knows?
Me Circa 70s lifeguard days with my Richard Simmons and Ronald Mcdonald hair! |
4) I was on a swim team in High School (summer team) and I was a lifeguard. I used to shoot water between the gap in my front teeth and could do a mean impersonation of the sound that dolphins make!! My friends nicknamed me "Flipper!"
5) I drive a stick shift....and.....READY FOR THIS??? I CANNOT drive an AUTOMATIC!!! Yes you read correctly...I CANNOT DRIVE AN AUTOMATIC...only stick!!!
6) I am also obsessed with "House Hunters" on HGTV.
7) My fantasy is to live in a log cabin in the forest...by a wonderful running stream.....I would like to sleep in a hayloft like Heidi did! lol
I would like to pass this award on to the following:

A lifeguard, a 'flipper', drive only stick...
Interesting!!!
eee! Congratamulations!
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! From Rachael Ray to Curtis Stone? Way to go, Aunty Caren. purrr....meow!
ReplyDeleteNaw.. you are so sweet. You deserve the award. Hey your seven things? We have an aweful lot in common.
ReplyDeleteI was on the swim team, as well as belonging to privet swim clubs.
I also was involved with the lifesavers, as were my older brother and sister. Weekends involved swim club on Friday nights, and lifesaving on Sundays. (I cant remember NOT being able to swim, I think I am part fish)
I drive automatic, but cant drive stick...lol (I have to learn to be able to drive our bus)
I knew about the cookbook obcession because you've put in an order for ours..LOL!
And you know about the art :)
HUGS!
What great facts, and congrats on your reward!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting answers, it's so cool! :)
ReplyDeleteConCATulations for you deserved award!

Luna
Oh wow!!!! Look at you all lovely as a lifeguard!! Wow!! And I hope one day you get to realise your dream and illustrate children's books!! I hope you do!!! Such talent must be used!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations with your award and thanks for sharing these little fab bits about yourself!! Take care

@Old Kitty lol!! thank you!! The hair is hilarious huh? lol. I procrastinate sometimes...actually I want to write AND illustrate the book, right now I would be happy with just writing it!
ReplyDeleteThe award is for all of YOU too! thank you! xoxo
@Luna thank you! It is for YOU as well!
@Rumblepurr THANK YOU! The award is for ALL OF YOU as well!
@Alittlesprite OMG we were both on a swim team!! What did you swim? I did the 50 meter freestyle and was the anchor in the 50 meter relay (swam anchor in the relay)...a couple of times they put me in with backstroke but I was AWFUL at backstroke! Too funny you were a lifeguard too! Well MOST people CAN drive automatic because it is easier than a stick...I learned in a stick, have owned all sticks and CAN'T drive automatic! lol. About the art? You are a TRILLION times more talented than I am! xoxo
@Mr.Puddy, I LOVE being Cat Woman! lol!!! well I did try and pick 15...and as I was picking 15 I was thinking...this isn't right to do this because there are soooooo many of the blogs that I follow that I LOVE....I also think we ALL put so much time and thought into what we do that we ALL deserve it so I wanted EVERYONE to have it!
ReplyDeleteOh yes Puddy I have ALWAYS lived my life by my OWN rules!! lol. I "march to my own drummer" and have never been a sheep following others.
So that hair was pretty funny huh? MOL!!! I know!
I have some old work that maybe I could photograph and post (I have done NOTHING in recent years). Maybe I can post it soon.
xoxoxo
@Priscilla, yes you knew a few of those!! I was thinking of Rosie last night and posted on her Facebook page that I was thinking of her...I hope she is doing well and I hope YOU are doing well...have to sit down and email you but probably after this crazy week! xoxo
ReplyDelete@Ruth THANK YOU it is for all of you too!
ReplyDelete@Priscilla, when I replied I forgot to say THANK YOU! The award is for YOU too!!
@Cat-In-Sydney...OMC!! How could I have forgotten to mention my darling Curtis???? OMC!!!!! You know what else? With the cookbooks that I have collected (and I have TONS!) I have NONE of his....with him though who needs the book??? I would rather have HIM in my kitchen cooking!!!!! xoxoxo

Oh guess what? We love House Hunters, too! And my Mommeh drives a stick shift and is skerred of automatics, also. She is always wanting to press an invisible clutch.
ReplyDelete@Max THANK YOU!! I give it right back to you and everyone! Thanks sooo much for your kind words!!
ReplyDelete@Daisy, OMC, OMC!! You are the ONLY one who "gets it!!" Everyone makes fun of me about the car!! NOBODY but you understands what I am talking about. They all say "if you can drive a stick, why can't you drive an automatic?" and it is EXACTLY what you said...."I am "skerred" of automatics...and I always want to press an invisible clutch!!" YOU GET IT!!!! xoxoxo
Congrats on the well deserved award, and by Four, count them Four different bloggers..Yipeeeee!!!!!!

@Kea thank you!! It is for you too! LOL about the "itchy" hayloft. I always loved when Shirley Temple played "Heidi" and climbed up the ladder to the loft and looked out that little window :) I also like when she and "Grandfather" ate cheese! lol
ReplyDeleteConcats on the award!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteConcats, Caren!! Wow, those are some interesting facts we didn't know about you!! I LOVE that pic of you from the 70s! Hot stuff!
ReplyDeleteHi Caren, congratulations on your Stylish Blogger award!! I enjoyed reading the seven things about you...sounds like you were part mermaid in your younger days :-)
ReplyDeleteMuch congrats Car, you deserve all accolades!! -Ms. Z.
ReplyDeleteYou can drive stick but not automatic? That is the OPPOSITE of our Mama! When she tried to drive stick before, the car stalled and stalled and stalled!
ReplyDeleteThat was a great read - you sound pretty amazing! Well done with your award!
ReplyDeleteSee you around soon from a cute kitten, Dexter x
You can still draw :) and your hair in that pic looks awesome! Congratulations
ReplyDeleteCongrats - you totally deserve it!
ReplyDeleteI love the fact about the stick shift & automatic. I totally feel you - when I got my first automatic after years of owning a stick, I kept wanting to press that invisible clutch and shift gears!
I used to be able to draw too.... I loved pencil and shading the best. I think I lost, or at least missplaced that talent...Very impressive with your stick driving. I tried to learn years ago, and only accomplished making myself car sick!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, you stylish blogger, you!
ReplyDeletePat
www.critteralley.blogspot.com
Wonderful!! You are more than deserving for four awards! Congrats, sweetie!
ReplyDeleteYou can't drive an automatic? For real? That's crazy!

@Pat lol thank you!!
@Hilary "misplaced" I like that! I guess I have misplaced my talent. I also liked shading the best as well...could NEVER work in color!
@Pup Fan, thank you!! You all have earned it too! Yep you understand completely! That is what I did! I kept going for the clutch and scared myself so bad there is no way I will EVER drive an automatic!
@MissKris TV-not sure if I still can but I love how you believe that I can draw! lol about the hair! It is awful! But thank you!
@Dexter thank you sooo much!!
@Trixie-lily-Sammy Joe-yep I am the opposite of most people! lol
@Ms.Z thank you soooo much!
ReplyDelete@Cat thanks a million! Yep I was definitely a "water baby" lived in the water...used to swim 3 miles a day during my lunch hour, taught swimming, lifeguarded for a few years...I was ALWAYS in the water!
@Catsparella thank you!!!! "Hot Stuff" yeah right!! lol. If I was "hot" it was cause I was a burn out!! roflmao!!
Weyhey that's a nice endorsement. Concatulations!
ReplyDeleteMy Human thinks that was a pretty cool haircut. But then, you should see what she looked like in the 70s. But you never will of course, because she only puts embarrassing pictures of ME on the blog!
ReplyDelete@Au and Target thank you!!
ReplyDelete@Spitty MOL! Do you wear glasses? If you like that haircut you should! (kidding!) I want to see a photo of YOU in the 70s!!! MOL!

@Abigail, Madison, Lisa thank you!!! You are BEYOND KIND!! YAY!! Another Rachael Ray fan! I am sooo upset! We have been so busy this week that I missed her show Monday and today...I am hoping to watch it tomorrow afternoon
(((((hugs))))) back at ya!
Oh noes! Our Mom is a HUGE fan of House Hunters too! She can watch them over and over and over. She's pretty good at picking which house the people decide to buy.
ReplyDelete@Laila and Minchie that is too funny that your Mom loves HH too!! I can also watch them over and over! I am pretty good too at picking out the houses they want...some of their "budgets" are pretty amazing aren't they?
ReplyDeleteCaren, you deserve the award!
ReplyDeleteI drive a stick shift old car from bro until I got banned. We call it "pawis-steering" (pawis is a filipino word for sweat. Haha!)...
And mahalo sounds like another pinoy word which means "love' and "expensive" and I guess it goes together!
I missed the Blog for Change because it was Sumo's bday and Sweepy is grumpy. But sooner than soon, I might update Sweepy's.
Mahalo to you and your drooly cats too!
And oh, I am now award free because it is so difficult to pass them! But maybe, I will share the 7things on Thursday. Maybe. ;-)
@Lui thanks so much for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteI love when you called the stick "pawissteering!!" too funny!
Love your definition of "mahalo" too!
Awww thank you!
I hear ya about the awards...it IS difficult to pass them! I hear ya about the "maybe" too! You sound like me! lol
xoxo
I dont know about a trillion, I havent seen any of your work yet :) My favourite stroke was breast-stroke. I was really good at butterfly to, although it was my least favourite. I liked the 50 meters, but I was really a long distance swimmer.
ReplyDeleteCaren you so deserve the award and I wasn't the only one who knew it!! :) Thanks so much for the link back to my blog, sorry for the delay on getting back to you, Best Buy had custody of my laptop again and I just got it back. When I don't have it I don't do a lot on line. Thanks again and congrats on your multiple win!!

@Coupon Queen awww you are sooo sweet thank you! Ugh I know how that is with computer woes...I do think that Best Buy does a good job...was that a new laptop? I hope not!
@Alittlesprite...I wish you lived near me. I have always ADORED watching those who can swim the butterfly well. I was never one of them. I think it is gorgeous when done correctly. Wish you could teach me! Yeah I swam 3 miles during lunch every day (and often more) but for competition just 50 meters
Concats, you and all our fellow bloggers do deserve this Award as you and others have said. If I had know there was a cat blogging place, I would have been here way before now.
ReplyDeleteYou were a life guard and I still can't swim. lol
I was on before and forgot to wait for the silly letters. sorry.
