  1. Caren, Are you sure ? My mom love to believe she is tall. Problem : she can't grow more vertical but she might be can achieve horizontal way : )

  2. I like this saying and the picture very much, Caren. Thanks for sharing it.
It is so true that a lil tiny kitty can actually be as brave, big and beautiful as a lion!
It all depends on what we think and see ourselves instead of what others think and see us. Be confident and honest, with these two principles in our heart, we are happy and contented people.

  10. @Mr.Puddy ohhh how you make me LAUGH!! You have to tell me about how your mom is gonna achieve in a "horizontal" way! lol. If she wants to be taller she can wear heels! See? It works? xoxo

@Old Kitty you are most welcome! xoxo

@Forever Foster I love that picture too. I remember YEARS ago a dear friend of mine gave me that card and I kept it on my desk at work forever!

@Lupie, yes I wanted something positive for bringing in the New Year...everyone has seen that photo through the years but I thought it was important to see again. Oh nooo! I wonder why your eyes are swollen? Maybe allergies?

  24. How true that picture is although through words and/or actions it is possible to make someone feel smaller.

  25. I love that illustration...

    pawhugs, Max

  26. @Hannah and Lucy, that is very, very true...that is why WE have the power to control our thoughts about ourselves when we look in the mirror. Other people's words to demean us only have power if we allow them to have power. I know what you mean because I do have to constantly remind myself of what I just said to you! (((((hugs))))

  27. We (my husband and I) were always convinced that our large Snowshoe Siamese--the one who had enough "catitude" for three cats--fancied himself as a mighty jaguar... and that, if only he'd been an outdoor instead of an indoor boycat, he would've scaled the tallest trees, and brought down the choicest prey with his incredibly-muscular paws. (Of course, we were also positive that he "spoke" with a voice that sounded just like Sean Connery, so... heaven only knows if we were even in the ballpark, lol!) He was actually only somewhat-interested in seeing himself in the mirror, though.

Boomer, on the other hand, talks to himself in the mirror several times every single day... and all we can think is that each time he's asking, once again, "Who IS that good-lookin' boycat?!?". (And no, he doesn't sound like a Scot... ;D)

  28. Caren, I love that! And it so applies to us humans. Now when I look in the mirror, I will see a supermodel! LOL! (if I don't answer, it is because I am talking to my booking agent! )

But seriously, we should all take this to heart. Thank you for sharing!

  29. @GlamKitty thanks so much for sharing that adorable story. I love Snowshoe kitties...we almost adopted one once and she had QUITE the personality!! One of the reasons we didn't adopt her was that she hated me but LOVED my husband (he likes cats but isn't obsessed with them like I am)....Snowshoes have wonderful personalities.
OMC Boomer actually talks to himself in the mirror? That is hilarious! You need to video that!
