"Starry Starry Cody"
The use of color, the movement, even the detail showing the texture of Cody's fur is just amazing!!!! Emma captured Cody's signature "stare" and the clear, green pools that are his eyes. The relaxing purple-pink-gray-lavender hues are peaceful and serene. This is definitely a favorite of mine, and I am blessed to have received it. I am still searching for the perfect frame, the dimensions of this portrait are (18x24), when I find it, it will be hung with pride in my office with the rest of my cat art.
I am beyond grateful to Emma for creating this ethereal portrait that I will cherish always.
About Emma:
This London City Chick swapped life in the fast lane for the slow pace of Baltimore, USA fourteen years ago. She swapped crumpets for crab cakes and incessant rain for the Ravens and has never been happier!
Her pet portrait blog is Emma's Pet Portraits, she works in pastel or watercolor or other mediums on request.
Emma has also penned a hilarious book for the first year after giving birth called Cocktails at Naptime Cocktails at Naptime - A Woefully Inadequate Guide to Early Motherhood.

DeleteI hope Cody is doing better than yesterday. I was in contact with Emma but she kinda made it clear that I’d have to pay for a drawing and when I saw her prices I laughed. That’s a gorgeous Starry Starry Cody.
ReplyDeletethank you he is. I am thinking that Emma would have gladly worked with you. Being the daughter of an artist....an editorial cartoonist that was known world-wide (Ray Osrin), AND....considering that I was going to be an art major myself (and I used to draw voraciously) I don't think it is particularly polite to EVER say publicly that when you looked at an artist's prices you laughed. This wasn't done digitally which is what MANY so-called "artists" do nowadays (which comes down to plain old tracing)........there is a great deal of time invested as well as their talent and the cost of materials. I would never laugh at what one charges for their craft, which is a gift unique to them. I am sure if you had mentioned your financial situation to Emma she would have worked with you. You are entitled to your opinion but the lack of discretion in the comment greatly detracts from your point.
DeleteThat is a super-fantastic painting of Cody! I am very glad to hear he is feeling so much better today, too! XOXOXO
